Romo Drama Brewing

Im sorry was he released? No? So they arent FORMER co-workers yet. So yes, he should have kept his mouth shut instead of going on Instagram and saying goodbye to everyone before he anything was formalized. Ok buddy? Cool
Not for me, but just clarify....
No, he said "thanks" to all the fans posting nice comments to his instagram account.
He did not say good-bye, actually.

If you're upset about the two big communications Romo has made in this saga (one to media naming Dak the starter and his farewell thank you post) well let's just agree to disagree because you wouldn't know class if it slapped you in the face.
Yeah I have always agreed Romo is a class act. Im just saying that IF he is in the locker room creating drama (as this story suggests) its not a classy move. Thats all I am saying

Yes they have, since as far back as mid-to-late October when Romo was cleared medically healthy to return as the starter. The latest tweets' legitimacy is another subject altogether though. Even so, any real or manufactured drama has been entirely predictable from as far back as October to as recent as his reading of The Statement in mid-November.
They handled it badly because Garrett is an average coach. I can't help but think he's a weasel. He talks about meritocracy and earning your job, but he hardly did the latter. Romo has, and when he was healthy enough to return to the starting line-up, he submitted to what Garrett preached and wasn't even given a chance. What a hypocrite. Garrett has never had to follow the common career trajectory of NFL head coaches. The only reason he is the head coach of the Cowboys is because of his family relationship (via his father) to the Jones' family. The only reason he got a head coaching interview outside of the Cowboys organization (with the Ravens) is because of a team built by Parcells, Tony Romo, and Terrell Owens.

If Jerry released him everyone would complain he isn't a good GM for letting him walk for nothing, keeping him around he is a bad GM for trying to trade him; hold him for June 1st cut if nothing pans out, Bad GM for cutting him and absorbing the money. Jerry should just do Jerry cause someone will be mad either way.(well it's alright now, I learned my lesson well, you can't please everyone, I guess you got to please yourself.) Jerry's new song.

There is no locker room. This is the offseason. The team is in flux. Romo won't be here when TC starts. There is nothing for him to poison or cause drama in.

Were there reports of Peyton Manning acting like a cry baby when he knew he was going to be released for Andrew Luck? You know.. a guy that actually won his city a championship.

Show me proof Romo could perform better. Oh wait, you cant, because he was benched for the better QB.

He was light years better against Philly, while Dak was chucking the ball up into coverage, without Zeke. With his 'bad back', his lasers were ten times faster than Dak, he threw it better long and Philly defense respected him enough to hold off on bringing as much pressure.

You mean the Philly defense backed off because they feared the guy they have been killed by for the past decade? And gave a Rookie some trouble? Same rookie that led a 4th quarter comeback into overtime against the same team who was then in the playoff hunt? You dont say....

From La Confora:

Also, as a PSA: Don’t get caught up in any of the faux drama being floated about Romo vs. Prescott or any such nonsense. It’s a business, and Romo knows as much, and this is an ownership decision. He has many, many friends for life in that Cowboys’ locker room and frankly he’s been vacationing and out of town with his family for much of the month. If that makes him “distant” or whatever, so be it, I suppose. But this is out of Romo’s hands too, and, yes, broadcasting is certainly in his future at some point, but I’d put it at least at 70/30 he plays football this season and the Texans really are a perfect fit.

Manning was cut as soon as the league year started and not held onto as trade bait.

Vastly different.

Its whatever is best for the team, period.
I have 9 white and a 9 blue jersey, my favorite player in the NFL. So what.
Do what is best for the team nothing less.

This man gets it! + 1
