Would you prefer they continue to piss on him even after he won a Superbowl?

Will I prefer that, you ask?

I know they will, period! You think the ufcrules of the World will stop dogging him? Not a chance.

He's always been elite. Unfortunately the team around him has always sucked.

I guess my point is if Romo puts the production he has and you add the defense to the mix this team could be unstoppable. A lot of people like Wilson in Seattle. He had a running game and one hell of a defense. Wilson makes plays but it isn't on his shoulders every game. They have a great team. I long for that with Dallas. No team is perfect but we can certainly improve on the D.

Romo is not elite... Brees, Brady, Peyton, and Rodgers are elite.

Well, yea. Those are the top 4 QBs in the league hands down. You can make an argument for who is #1, 2, 3, 4, but you can't argue that it isn't those 4 guys.

The question is, who is the next best? People's opinions of #5-10 seems to change every year, every week if that. I think Romo is making a name for himself as the consensus #5. Over the years guys like Big Ben and Eli have been considered the next best because they have the rings to show for it.

I don't know about top five, there are a lot of very good QB's in the league right now. I'd definitely give him top ten though.

I think your wrong here. Brees was highly criticized until he won a SB. Don't get me wrong. Bree's is an awesome QB, but the naysayers ran away after he won. I think the same would happen for Romo.

I cant remember a time where Brees was ever criticized like Romo has been. Maybe not given much credit, but criticized? Not even close.

And he's had arguably the best OC and innovator of offense in this new generation. While Romo has had subpar coaching.

Like the song goes, I can only imagine.

He's a damn good QB. What would happen if Romo had a defense that was a top 5? Top 10? Match this with his production and what would you get? I'd like to know? Anyone here think we are 5-1 with a defense like Seattle? I do.

He did. 2007 and 2009 called.

How far did he go those two years? LOL

Drew Brees was a poor man's Romo when he was on the lowly Chargers.

There's a reason. Team sport, people.

Not just a team sport, actually. It's the ULTIMATE team sport in which each QB spends more than half the game on the bench!

I've always laughed at the Romo haters and will continue to do so for as long as they exist.

I dont remember even the Romo haters thinking that Brady Quinn and Mark sanchez were better

I also remember some people saying Sanchez was better and even talking about scenarios in which we trade for him. Man, am I ever glad we didn't do that of all things. I don't recall anyone ever saying that about Brady Quinn. I will say one thing about Quinn, however. He has the coolest sounding name of any NFL quarterback. It's a shame he can't play worth diddly squat.

This season has increasingly seen pundits, even ESPNs', proclaiming Romo as a bonafide elite QB. Many ranking him "weekly" as #2-#3. For years upon years he has been the black sheep, with people not only not accepting him but not wanting to accept him, remember the Brady Quinn > Tony Romo crew? The Mark Sanchez > Tony Romo crew? It sounds comedic that these were once the preeminent opinions of national pundits. It seems like after a near decade of him making them look like fools they have finally accepted him for what he is - an elite quarterback in the National Football League.

I think they just sit quietly waiting to point. It don't matter how many good games are in between it's that one bad one they're waiting on except now they waitin to point out how bad the contract was. Then they can bury Jerry and Romo with one shovel. Stop kidding yourself.

I remember the year Brady Quinn was drafted there were some people on here saying we should take Quinn (I believe we traded our pick to Cleveland that year and they selected Quinn with our pick. I think it was because of his college pedigree vs the undrafted FA Romo.

Maybe "Finally accepted" by whoever is doing rankings at NFL network but not by the average football fan.. I think his most memorable moment to the average fan this year is probably the broncos pick.. which isn't fair in my opinion but it is what it is. When there is a stigma around you for being a choke artist is is going to take more than a high completion percentage, a 3-3 record and some guys at NFL network ranking you as a top 7 QB to change the perception of you.. (I like Romo btw.. Just being honest about the perception and semi-reality)
