Romo > New T.b. Qb ?

Top QB prospect is about a lot more than this. It's about ceiling potential.

5 TD passes against Michigan State with 2 in the final 8 minutes of the game is called stepping up.

He completed a total of 6 passes in the 4th quarter. He had 3 completions for 80 yards in the 1st TD and drove a total of 24 yards for the 2nd TD.

Good turnaround from what he did in the first 3 quarters, but it wasn't as if he was leading 8 to 12 play drives for 80 yards and a TD.

okay why the heck would the Bucs trade a 1st round pick for an unexperienced, unknown Tony Romo????? Second what would we do if Bledsoe gets injured???, i'd kill somebody if we signed Testaverde to be our back up QB. i'd hurt somebody if we signed Quincy. we'd at best get a 3rd rd pick for Romo which isnt worth doing considering out QB situation

Quinn is 0-1 in big games this season as well. :)
What? All 4 of their games so far have been big. I hate them but give credit where it's due.

I'll take this kind of "awful" play from my QB every week.

Is it because he's at ND or because he's the consensus best QB in the country? I do not understand why people make this stuff so personal. The kid's a good QB.

i have nothing against Quinn but right now he's not the best QB in the nation. that would go to Troy Smith

I'm sorry but leading his team to comeback victories against GT and MSU doesn't impress me. The one BIG game this year, AT HOME, he throws up a brick. No excuses.

He is a still big time college QB. I think he will be a solid pro.

Quinn's a better NFL prospect. That's the bottom line.

Bottom line is he threw 5 TD's and his team won ... this despite 30 MPH winds and a driving rainstorm.

He was more impressive than Stanton and Troy Smith that's for sure.

well okay but you didnt say better NFL prospect, you said best QB in the nation. and the best QB so far this year has been Troy Smith (the unquestioned heismen leader so far this year).

I honestly do not have ANYTHING against him at all. I've never been a fan of ND but its not as if I dislike them either. I was pretty much impartial in watching much of that game last night.

It was merely my opinion of what I saw from him in the 1st 3 quarters of the MSU game. I didn't catch very much at all of the 4th quarter so I didnt see his play then. BUT, from the 3 quarters I saw... he did not look very impressive. It didn't seem to be a lot of pressure on him from the MSU defense.. but, due to rain or whatever, he just couldn't hit his recievers.

I admit.. the "awful" statement was a blanket statement and I should have clarified it to say "has not looked that good in his last couple of games".

To me the NFL is the goal so he is the best QB in the nation. I don't care about the Heisman. It's a joke.

Unquestioned? Come on now. Lets not forget about Adrian Peterson.

While he didn't play particularly well vs. Michigan ... he did account for all of ND's 21 points. The entire team didn't play well. I mean, it wasn't Quinn that gave up the 3 1st half TD's to Manningham. And even in the picture from your post ... the ball went right through the TE's hands. It was just one of those days.

well i agree to disagree :) . well i do agree with the Heisman becoming a joke but not with Quinn being the best QB in college football so far this year.

Adrian Peterson is awesome but if Ohio State stays undefeated there is no doubt that Smith will win it unless he just begins to stink it up

With the exception of one play yesterday ... Smith looked very mediocre vs. a defense Quinn lit up.

Vs. PSU.....

Smith: 12/22, 115 yards, 1 TD, 2 Int, 54.5 comp%

Quinn: 25/36, 287 yards, 3 TD, O Int, 69.4 comp%

Beat me to it. I was looking up the stats.

everyone has a bad game, you cant be perfect all year. Smith lit up Texas who has a much better defense IMHO than Penn state. Maybe Quinn could too, i'm defitenely not taking anything away from Quinn he's also a great QB.

Forgot to add that the game was at Texas who is very tough to beat at home
