My sister actually had that procedure done. I guess it was nagging her so much that she had to get rid of it. Couldn't drive or sit straight for weeks.

My wife...was girlfriend when I had it done. She had to pack the wound daily before I headed to work with my pain pills. No clue how she stayed with me.:)

I just got a text from a friend that's a Steelers fan and it said; "Back Cyst has surgery today to remove Tony Romo." LOL

You should text him back "Ben Roethlisberger runs over Back Cyst with motorcycle. Tony Romo, previously removed from Back Cyst, left unharmed".

It's a minor thing that only flared up recently.

There is no conspiracy, cover-up, or spin.

I know one of the Cowboy's Docs.
This simply represents full disclosure.

He gave you that info without breaking HIPPA?

I wonder if it was a Pilonidal Cyst. They occur in the lower back, upper butt region. They can become disgustingly big and deep. I had one "scraped out" and it was horribly painful. For weeks I had to have gauze jammed in it to keep it clean. Then every week or so the doctor would go in and scrape the wound to check it out. It is as painful as it sounds because before the sraping they would have to numb the wound by jamming needles in it. I hope to never have one again.

been there done that as well, mine came back and had to have a weird surgery where they left it open at the end. crazy. was the first thing to pop in my mind when i read the title.

I heard Peyton Manning had the same procedure done the week before. Now Romo had it done in the same region using the same Dr. who used the same intstuments. It's another part of doing the same thing that Peyton does in the offseason. Boy JJ must have been serious. eh

It just highlights how much of the real stories that go on with a team are not known at the time and may never be known. So much effort goes into reading what goes on on the surface, when most of what really matters is going on below the water level.

Yep his surgery was a month ago and we are just hearing about it because he's not practicing. I like how Garrett keeps the media in the dark as long as possible, like this playcaller thing...

"inside" sources tell me that the cyst could have been much much worse if more sunlight had hit it. Apparently Tony wearing his hat backwards helped prevent it from being worse.
