Romo has been neutered

Exactly what I'm saying. Witten is the focal point of this offense and dez gets a quick look before romo forces the ball to Witten. That needs to be the other way around. Witten is forced the ball open or not and Dez doesn't get enough touches.

EDIT: Not certain the stats will bear this out but it certainly seems as if this is indeed the pattern.

The Cowboy defense neutered Romo, they were on the field the whole day......can't throw 300 yards from the bench

Absolutely. Also, the numbers would have been even better (prob around 300 yds) if there weren't multiple critical drops that undermined his performance yesterday. I love Dez but he has had his share of critical late game drops over the past two years. Witten came up small as well. Pathetic defense and critical drops were the keys yesterday. Romo looked good IMO and I'll readily admit that he did not look quite right the first couple of games this year.

Just seems much more laid back this year, not as dynamic in my eyes. Used to be Romo would evade trouble and he would immediately be looking downfield. This year I have not seen that from him...maybe his receivers just have not been open. No one else sees this?

Every time he evaded pressure, the receiver dropped the ball or they weren't open. He's not forcing the football anymore in crazy plays that break down. Those are the plays that result in INTs.

Romo is not being stupid with the ball, he is not turning the ball over. When he has to take risk he has but he is also being smarter with the football.

I really don't understand how Romo takes the blame for everything. What's changed? Callahan. Bradshaw even ranted about it.

Nobody like Garrett. Now nobody like Callihan. Romo gets criticized for taking too many chances. Now he's criticized for not taking enough.

At some point people are going to have to accept that this is a team game. Dropped passes, fumbles.

Jerry invests in Playmakers and limits investment in OL and DL. Giants take the opposite approach and have two recent Super Bowls with lesser skill players.

It's as simple as that.
If this is a team game, why does Romo shoulder the load so much? His passing all of the time is the cause for this teams woes. Defense always gassed, running game always abandoned and no answer when folk takes away Witten from him.

Until Dallas can consistently mount a running game they will continue to hang out on the corner 500th Street and Mediocre Avenue.

Hard to imagine the receivers are not getting open with all the time Romo has to throw these days. I'm sorry, I just don't buy that.

Romo is neutering himself, you can't hang on to the ball that long and not have people open down field, yet time and time again he goes with the 3yd dump off. He has no confidence.

Really, cause everytime you watch the opposing defense, they simply lay two-deep all day long...

IDK, the receivers on this team are notorious for not getting open. It's been debated to death on whether it's the routs, the playcalling or something else.

Bingo. I'm so tired of every single third down going to Witten....it's like the entire world knows what's coming and who it's coming to and the QB insists on going his way. It hasn't changed since the T.O days and it won't until one or both is gone.

Hanna is going to go to the Pats in a couple of years and catch 60 balls in his sleep.

And it use to be Marion Barber the first 2 years of the Garrett era...

Let me add that I would like to see Beasley in some more routes deeper than 6-7 yards, very slippery in space and if we could get him the ball with some room I think he can make some people miss.

I'd like to see more Beasley period.

Romo's playing fine. I'd like to see us take better advantages of the blitzes we're getting, but he's taking care of the football and finding his WRs. We have problems other than QB.

Or huge gains.

We aren't putting our receivers in good position to make a play after the catch. That's for sure.....

Do you watch Peyton Manning? He does the same thing.

This. I won't compare him to Romo but Peyton has been a check down machine this season. His average yards per attempt is only .4 yards more than Romo.

He is the elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about. We did not score a single TD in the second half in both losses this year. These were ten drives without a TD.

He used to be the king/gunslinger in the fourth quarter when we were trailing. Not anymore. Perhaps age finally caught up on him.

I don't think age caught up to him. I think the constant criticism caught up to him. I think he's making a concerted effort to NOT be the choker, not be the turnover monster, etc. But that means NOT being the gunslinger.
