More importantly he has no confidence in a wide receiver making a play against a defender, that is why the long ball was not, has not, and will continue to not be thrown. One thing I loved about Aikman and at least even Eli does is throw at least 4-5 deep balls a game.

Actually Witten is the safety outlet and I personally think that is problematic. I agree with your other points though.

This. Yesterday Romo threw to witten 7 times in a row on our last drive. Teams KNOW Romo is throwing to witten in big down situations and its hurting us.
