Wasn't there a commercial where a guy was blocking all of the shots of a kid or kids? That would be Dirk-Romo.

Romo might be really good in pickup basketball, but NBA players are so many levels above even great NFL athletes, that it's not even funny. Add in that Dirk is one of the greatest basketball players in history.

Dirk is 1 of 7 NBA players to score over 30,000 points.

I am a big Romo fan. I have stated many times that the lack of playoff success was not because of him...in fact...without him we would not even have been in the mix during his tenure as starting QB. But this publicity stunt is ABSURD!!!!! Regardless of the fact that our lack of playoff success was not necessarily entirely his fault...there is a little TOO MUCH pomp and circumstance for someone who won 2....2.....playoff games. Their is an absurd amount of attention and hype surrounding the Cowboys for a team that has won 2 playoff games in the last 20+ years. I personally think the over the top hype we get is one of the reasons we can never get over the hump when we get close....because we are lauded with the spoils usually reserved for winners....without actually having to win. And I know that eats at other teams/players....and God knows it irritates fans of other teams. Let's hope Dak can stay focused through all of the attention surrounding the Cowboys....and FINISH!

Well, the Mavs have been to the playoffs more than all NBA teams except the Spurs over the last 15 years.

I'm not even stat checking that because it's beside the point. I'm not talking about any other period of time except right now... and right now the Mavs are terrible. I didn't bring the Spurs into this debate, you did. I am a huge Spurs fan so that explains my point of view to what I see as a consistently good team, but out of fairness to the argument, I left my personal preferences out. The Mavs are in the last third of 30 NBA teams and they just lost at home again to the Chicken Nuggets. It's no "honor" to be associated with them right now.
