Ok, everybody keeps saying Romo missed Witten for a TD because that's what the idiot announcers said.

But, on that play, Romo got creamed on a blitz. McQ missed a block, I'm pretty sure, and Romo just got the ball out. If you're throwing up a jump ball, who you gonna throw to?

Obviously, TO was first progression. That's All Romo had time for on that play. Rewatch it. If Witten is his 2nd progression, and we get the block, I have no doubt Romo finds him.

I don't know about the other one he supposedly missed, to Fasano

Well, that is what I am trying to say too. Anyone who says , for a fact that Romo missed Witten needs to have full field camera to show me the timing of the rush, Witten breaking free, and the Safety move.

Without that you are just blowing smoke!

I didn't at all get the impression that he was just throwing up a jump ball - after all there was a little zip on the pass. Besides, even if he were that would have been a very poor decision, so this comment doesn't really support Romo very well.

Throwing a ball up for grabs in the corner of the end zone is one thing, but in the middle of the field with double coverage it would be a very bad decision.

Now he may well have felt pressure to make a decision a little quicker than he would like and that's why he didn't see Witten, but even in that situation he is responsible for reading the coverage and making the right choice.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not worried about it, and the reason is that perfection is a little too high a standard to expect of anyone, especially in the first preseason game. I suspect he will view the game films and learn from it.

Exactly, if ROMO has a split sec longer he makes the td throw

cool, thanks for the upload...

I think Romo threw the ball purposefully high, with a lot of zip. Probably knew no one could get it, but if anyone can, TO can... Or, was just throwing it away--he had no time! I was afraid he was gonna get hurt on that play

He did he get sandwiched on that play. I dont think he had the time to go to the second read of Witten

He goes 10 out of 11 and when the pressure is bearing down on him he goes to TO I can live with that.

Yeah, Romo gets hit a split second after he throws...any more time and he's plastered. I was wrong about McQ--A blitzer comes free on a zone stunt blitz. He's in Romo's line of sight and he does what he had to.

Actually, Gurode gets owned on a spin move...that's what freed him

If Romo hits Witten on that play, Jerry should just go right over and sign the check!

So can T.O ;)

True. :laugh2: Sometimes you tip you hat to the other team. Colts got good pressure on the play and forced Romo to get rid of it so Romo went to his big play guy.

the video clearly shows that witten really wasnt open either, the safety had witten in sight and when the safety seen romo committ to owens he went towards owens, otherwise if romo throws to witten the safety was waiting..:D

Hey, if it's not asking too much, do you have the one that he missed Fasano on. I missed that play.

And, while the safety was a bit deep, I think he was in position to handle wherever the ball went.

Also, I don't know if 41 of the Colts broke for TO (leaving Witten "open") until after the ball was thrown.
