If you watched last night's game between the Colts and the Patriots you might have thought you were watching Tony Romo at quarterback for BOTH teams.

Yep, that's right!

That quick release; movement and command in the pocket; throwing the hand out, pointing when changing plays, pinpoint passing...all illusions of Romo.

Don't laugh, but Tony's new cologne endorsement might just be named...Illusions of Romo!

Yo Mickey, Mosley! You heard it here first!

Funny post.

I do think that, for two games, Romo has displayed some qualities typically attributed to the "great ones."

Can he do that for 6-plus more years? The answer will determine his ultimate success.

Romo looked very good and in control against the Skins. He also made plays down the stretch that SHOULD have won the game (if Vincent doesn't block the FG). Of course that was against our defense that has been pretty weak. I'm curious to see how he responds with the game on the line in the 4th quarter against a defense like Philly or Denver. Against Carolina the game was pretty much in hand by the 3rd quarter (no knock against him, just that it didn't test his mettle).

jrock, we trailed against Carolina the entire game until taking the lead in the fourth.

If I'm not mistaken, the 'Boys trailed 14-10 entering the fourth -- they then scored 25 points to win 35-14.

I know people are going to "giggle" because you're suggesting this but watching this kid... He could be very special. Maybe not HOF. But maybe a guy that could put up some damn fine passing numbers.

I'm already concerned about getting him resigned to a long-term contract.

Do you think the RedStinks are afraid of the eagle defense? You do know that they are not what everyone thinks they are don't you?

(well, everyone except their "fandoms" that is)...

Romo has some qualities that the "great one's" have.

Tom Brady's first year with New England, he had ALOT of up and down games.

They also both have similar qualities in them, but the one huge difference i see in them is. Brady is 3 inches taller, while Romo is a better scrambler.

Brady is more a precision guy, while Romo is more of a freelancer.

Other then that there is a possibilty that Romo can have the success that Brady has. He definately has the skills to get it done

No! No! No!

Romo is like Joe Montana, not Brady and Manning. Just ask Madden! ;)

Romo a freelancer? Where do you get that from? You might just be used to watching one QB just go time and time again to one receiver rather then find all his checkdowns and take the open guy...maybe that is why you think Romo freelances?

I sure have not seen it yet....

True

But you guys finally got your corners healthy and you guys brought the heat on almost every play (especially on 3rd down).

Sean Taylor was extremely close to get at lease 3 sacks that game had it not been for Romo getting the ball out early.

And that play Romo made, where he scrambled, had the presses of mind to know where the LOS and threw it to Barber for a huge pickup was just great.

No my friend, that was the High Pressure Defense of Gregg Williams that we are use to seeing.

Yeah you're the guy that "pimps" the QB that has a career passer rating of less than 80.

Romo has shown more ability in the last two games than Bledsoe has since 2002.

My mistake, you're correct. But the key play in that game was nothing that Romo did, it was the fumble on the kick return that set up the JJ touchdown. Then Delhomme fumbled and threw a pick to set up 2 more Dallas touchdowns. No knock on Romo, but my point still stands. Your defense won that game. 23 of 25 of those points can't be attributed to Tony, only the 2pt to TO.
