I have been a football fan forever. You can say this was only a pre-season game, but Tony Romo has what it takes to be an NFL QB. I bet you my house that The Tuna and JJ are beaming right now. Tony has good feet, good judgement, a quick release and a cocky, I can do it attitude, all the tools you need. He will be the future for Dallas for many years, barring injury. Do I think he will start the season, of course not, its Drew's job, but Tony will be there waiting and will take over soon. He has the Favre moxy and you can tell his teamates believe in him.

I have been talking about Tony for the last two years and have taken quite a forum beating. I will get the last laugh.

lol ok i actually hope your right. It has more with me not thinking Bledsoe is the guy we need to get us to the SB but Romo was impressive and hopefully continues to improve. OL could really help him out by actually blocking somebody on the run plays...

I won't argue with your assesment in as much as I have liked Romo since he got here and I was very pleased with his performance last night. However, I'm not ready to 'throw the baby out with the bathwater' so to speak by dumping Bledsoe after one good preseason game.

I think what last night (what little I saw on NFLNetwork) did for me was give me the assurance that he could step in if needed.

Alright, I admit it, I loved watching a more mobile QB make things happen on his own. I just hope Bledsoe plays lights out or BP may have lit the fires of a QB controversy down the road.

All in all, its great for the Cowboys to have a young guy who can play football waiting in the wings.

If this is the first good game you have seen from Romo then you haven't been paying attention. He has played well every time he has been in a game for the last two years. Granted all of his action has been in preseason and much of it was with scrubs...but HE played well for his part.

I'm not anointing him as anything...but I see no reason to believe that he would not do well if he goes into a regular season game.

He looked really sharp last preseason as well. Apparently he had a really good training camp last season and had such a good camp this season that BP wanted him to start the entire game to see if he really has what he thinks he has. I'd say he passed that test with flying colors.

In other words, you're wrong if you think it was "one good game". This may be the first many have seen him, but he's been performing pretty well for a while now.

I'm not either... as much as I think Bledsoe limits us a great deal. Romo is going to have to show me a little more this pre-season.

How would you feel after 1 or 2 more games like last night? I said last night that if he had another game or two like that we would have a legitimate QB controversy and got ripped for it.

IF- IF he does the same for every game this pre season then you MIGHT have a point. BUT untill that happens try and stay in touch with reality.

I agree with that... string together a few more quarters like he did last night and we do have a full-blown QB controversy on our hands.

Alright I can take that. I wouldn't call for him to be the starter right now, but a couple more games like this and it'll be tough not to.

I don't know why you would have gotten ripped...I think you spot on. If Romo has a couple more performances like last night there will be a lot of calls for him as the starter. I'm not sure that I would not join the movement.

The question is will BP let it get to that point? If he is set on starting Bledsoe he is not going to give Romo the extra time needed to build into a controversy. However, if BP is ready to make the switch he might.

I thought you were here last night? The Hensonites were out in full force.

I don't think BP will have Romo starting entire games anymore. He wanted to see something and I think he either saw "it" or didn't. Even if he's limited to 1-2 quarters, he could still string together 90 yard drives.

iirc this is the first "pro" game he has played from start to finish
I even think its the first one he started though I may be off there.

he has had one good game with some previous sprinklings of goodness here and there when he got the chance to play.
the kid did good, thats all I see.

I was here but the only one that I really saw making too much noise was that "DrewHensonnowsoonerthanlatersometimeorother" dufus. I didn't pay much attention to him. Maybe I wasn't paying much attention to any of them.

There is nothing that Bledsoe has ever shown me that has me convinced that he can't be schooled by good defenses and good defensive coordinators. His mechanics and thought process are just too slow and good defenses can contain him rather easily. That's the whole Bledsoe problem in a nutshell. Romo seems to have a much quicker release-- and from judging from last night's game-- much more accurate with short passes.

I'll watch the game today and make my own judgement on Romo's play. What little the NFL Network showed looked good. It is my understanding that a number of the Seahawk defensive starters did not play last night.
