Only? Have you ever made a bet on an NFL game? 4 point difference is HUGE, by the way it was 4.5, anyway I think you'll see just how valuable Tony is on Sunday night.

Really everyone here is condemning his opinion but if he's right that means that the Cowboys will win Sunday, y'all do want a victory even if it's Orton at qb don't you. Or are y'all hoping for a loss to prove Romo's value? I hope the later is not the case because what kind of fan would that make you?

What? Do you think I want the cowboys lo lose because Romo ain't playing? I am arguing that Romo is very valuable to this team and he will notice just how valuable he is on Sunday night, that is all.
I am a cowboys fan first and formost, it would be great if we win but I think that we won't if Romo doesn't play unless our D comes up huge which I don't think they will.

What if the team rallies like it did when Kitna was the qb? Kitna didn't play up to Romo's level but he did play "ok" and the team won some games. Some of you seem to think that it's no way we win this game without Romo and I don't think that that's the case, we have a chance. From Romo to Orton is not as great of difference as Brady, Manning, Brees, or Rodgers to their backup, this is not a knock on Romo but we do have the best backup qb situation in the NFL.

He was horrible. We won, because in our last eight games we generated 27 turnovers, while during Romo's eight games we only generated four. Kitna had 12 INTs and 6 fumbles by himself, while Romo had only seven INTs. We beat bums and only won games where we won the TO advantage.

And our 'inspired' play was only because Jerry went ballistic and all pressure was off in terms of record where defense could simply play aggressive and take risks.

Facts: out of our 8 wins this season we won the turnover battle 5 times, we tied 2 times and we lost 1 time (we won the to battle against the Lions and the Saints). So winning the turnover battles is not just important to Kitna, it's important to every qb in the NFL.

And our 8-8 season last year, we sucked in TO margin and are essentially where we are at today... You obviously don't understand the difference between 27 TOs and 7.

All I'm saying is that we have a chance to win the game Sunday night if Orton has a good game and the defense plays above it's head. We would need the defense to play above it's head even if Romo was starting, this Philly team is pretty explosive. If they can replicate the performance in the first game then we have a chance.

Oh yeah we can win and Orton can play well. It still doesn't prove anything about the original poster's argument. Many a back up has come in to play well in a few games. It's not even close to unique, it's a general trend. What makes players great is consistency. No need to belittle What Tony Romo has done to prove we can win. You can praise Tony and expect a win with Orton.

My personal belief is Romo masks a lot of the flaws of this offense.

Honestly, I think you were belittling what Kitna did as a fill in to prop up Romo. What Kitna brought to the table was leadership (from what some players said) and that kind of thing doesn't show up in the stats

I think he wasn't anywhere as good as people make him out to be, especially when people are trying to belittle Romo to make Kitna sound like a better runner of the Garrett system than Romo is... Kitna had no control of the defense. He was still on the sidelines when Romo was in.

I disagree on Brady, remember the Patriots going 11-5 without Brady? That speaks of the team and HC around him, Brees, Rodgers and Manning I believe kind of the same as in Dallas, maybe more some than the other but all teams would stink without their star QB.
Let me make this clear, I am not saying in any way, shape or form that Romo is as good as those four but I am saying that he is almost as valuable if not as valuable as those four are for their teams and unfortunately I think it will show on Sunday. He has carried this team not only this year but for the past 3 as well. if I am wrong then we could win and I will be more than happy, in the NFL it's any given sunday, but to say that Romo isn't as valuable and there's almost no dropoff between him and Orton is just dumb.

This from the guy that said the eagles would blow us out the first game--lock of the year. Yeah, you've proven a creditable prognosticator.
