Blake;5089204 said:So "what" is e-lie? What is the "obvious"? Please explain. Also, is it not okay to respect and admire the talents of players on other teams and still be a fan of the Cowboys? Also, you make a handful of generalized statements without substantiating them with any credible facts.
If someone says something good about an opposing player is that considered "adoration" in your book? Why so butt-hurt about an NFL quarterback with two more superbowls than Romo?? :laugh2:
TheSport78;5088942 said:Wow. I just have nothing else to say with this stuff.
Red Dragon;5089217 said:I have a lot more respect for fans who simply state up front that they are fans of another team.
KJJ;5089220 said:That's because you're claiming he looks "significantly" heavier based on a few pics that have been posted. Someone starts a thread every year at this time claiming he looks fat or out of shape. If he was "significantly" heavier it would have been mentioned by someone in the media that's seen him.
Saw an interview with him recently and he looked the same to me as he always does and not one single media member reported he ooked heavy. A QB looking fat and out of shape with mini camps approaching is going to make news. It's only on Cowboy boards that you ever read this stuff.
TheSport78;5089230 said:That's cool, but it's my opinion. Why does your opinion have more value than mine. Oh, it doesn't.
WPBCowboysFan;5089200 said:My I respectfully suggest you request the search skills of KJJ - he claims to be able to find things via search in about 20 seconds. He implies that is the amount of time it takes to research/find entire histories of posters.
WPBCowboysFan;5089234 said:Oh yes it does, he'll tell you so. And he'll tell you why. His opinion = fact. He researches. And he doesnt just research the stats or the team, or the player, he researches posters.
Im guessing you are now officially on the research list bro.
I actually like KJJ, we just have differing opinions about E-Lie and differing opinions about opinions.

TheSport78;5089238 said::laugh2: Well said...to each his own I guess. We all want Romo to do well, and that's the bottom line. I just don't believe he takes his training and/or nutrition as serious as he should. I just know I'm not the only one who feels this way about Romo!
A series of photos is much more relevant. Never said differently.WoodysGirl;5089136 said:I had nothing to contribute to the thread, but I always thought it was just a fun thread. I never got the value in analyzing throwing motion via a single photo.
If it had been a series of photos, that might've made more sense to me.

Take a look at this photo.

Good mechanics or poor?
This is no different than the discussion from that thread. A trained eye can see proper mechanics and improper mechanics as well. I can tell you at least three things mechanically wrong in the picture above, but I won't. If someone wants to point them out they can.
A lot can be determined from a still shot. Even players study still shots on the sidelines when they aren't on the field. Before film became easy access all teams and coaches studied still photos to teach.
I have never understood why that topic was so offensive to some. It was a chance to learn something new.

Once again, I watch football as you do. You have a history of glowing adoration for E-Lie while I dont. You have your opinion and I have mine. There is nothing more to it. Its not about stats or research. Its about watching football and what you see on the field. There is no "exposure" going on here. There is no spin or agenda. Its just opinions about a football player.
Here's a real shocker for you - your opinion is worth no more than mine, or mine yours.
And the person offering the opinion. Had it been almost anyone else, I doubt it would have ever been a big deal.WoodysGirl;5089256 said:re: the bold, I imagine it wasn't the topic, moreso the object of the topic. (Did I say that right?) It was a Drew Henson thread. It was a QB thread.
KJJ;5089244 said:My opinion contains some valid points. If Romo is "significantly" heavier wouldn't someone from the media have mentioned it? He's the QB and if a QB shows up in May in front of the media looking "significantly" heavier it's going to be reported there's no way around it. If Romo was looking "significantly" heavier Garrett would be asked about it. Romo just had a cyst removed that was bothering him so if he was looking heavier it could have been used as a reason for him not working out and looking out of shape. Not one report has surfaced claiming he looks heavier or out of shape.
Your opinion is based on a series of photo's where some of us here don't think he looks any different. None of us have seen him in person recently and that's when you can tell if someone is "significantly" heavier. It's the ones who see him all the time that would know. The media has seen him in person and nothing about his weight has been reported. These people are news hounds and a QB who just signed a $108 million contract being "significantly" heavier in May would make NEWS.
Red Dragon;5089245 said:I wonder if it never occurs to Cowboys fans that they repeat themselves endlessly. The same things that are being said about Romo were probably said likewise about White, Bledsoe, Aikman (before he won Super Bowls,) Hogeboom, etc.
Instead of yapping the same thing over the course of decades, why not just.....stop repeating like a broken record for once.

KJJ;5089262 said:You can make any statements you want based on your perspective but it's clear your perspective is based on your homerism and hatred for an opposing player. No knowledgeable, objective fan or anyone who covers the NFL would see Trent Dilfer and Mark Rypien in Eli Manning. Eli is a much better QB than either of those QB's were and it's not even debatable. My history is that of a tell it like it is objective fan. I remove all emotion from my posts and call it like I see it regardless if it ruffles a few feathers here.
The sad part of FAN boards like this is you can't give an opposing player or team credit without having your fandom questioned. Your opinion here is only worth what your history is as a poster on this board. If your posts are tainted with knee jerk reactions, hatred and extreme biased views your opinions aren't going to be worth much to some. There's agenda's on this board and everyone knows it. Some naturally won't acknowledge it but they exist and some are beyond obvious.
WPBCowboysFan;5089246 said:That is the bottom line - we want Romo to lead this team to a SB win!
Its about the Cowboys!
I'll never understand the butt hurt some posters suffer when a fan posting here on a Cowboys forum doesnt heap adoration and praise on our rivals.
And I'll never understand why some posters here always want the "facts" to support everything. I mean my goodness, I dont have to look at a girl that is 8 months pregnant and then need lab results to confirm it. Nor do I need confirmation by the media. Some things are just obvious. Stats and facts and scale documentations just arent needed.
