Discussion over what exactly?

Few posters making assumptions over few pics and stating their opinion, based on few pics? Did you or anyone on here measure his weight to be certain, one way or another? Do you or anyone know what kind of diet he has been on to say he looks unhealthy?

I bet it's No to all ... Yeah, that's worth debating over, it's quite silly.

Can you prove to me that has HASN'T gained body fat over the years? No, you can't. You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to mine. Deal with it.

Can you prove to me that Romo ISN'T significantly heavier than he was in 2006?

It's my OPINION and it's not going to change regardless of what anyone says. Romo does have a double chin and he just looks unhealthy in general. His skin pigmentation is poor and he looks overweight...in my OPINION.

Yeah, the DallasCowboys.com writers are going to get the green light to write about Romo coming a beached whale, right? Come on, now!

You're right, I don't know what he eats, but based on how I've seen his body composition change over the years, it can't be anything consistently good. I'm not trying to come off arrogant or anything, but don't tell me about nutrition, diet and what it takes to lose weight. Again, I'm not trying to come off negatively, but let's just say I have some credentials in those areas.

Correlation isn't causation, but you better bet your bottom dollar that nutrition is correlated with performance and doing well in big time situations. Romo showed signs of REGRESSION last year. Just saying...

The current pics that have been posted of him are proof that he's not "significantly" heavier. If he was "significantly" heavier ESPN and NFLN would be all over it as well as the writers who cover the Cowboys. I'm not saying he's not heavier than in 06 but if he was "significantly" heavier it would show and there would be comments and articles about it. The Cowboys beat writers have no restrictions on talking about a players weight or reporting if Romo looks heavier. I don't see a double chin on Romo. His face doesn't look any heavier to me in the current pics.

Anyone can appear heavier or have a double chin in a photograph it depends on the angle and when you catch the person. There's nothing in Romo's current pics that says he has an issue with his nutrition. I saw no regression in him last season and Jerry certainly wouldn't have signed him to that contract if he had regressed. Not one talking head out there claimed Romo regressed last season. Some of his "numbers" may have regressed but he didn't as a player.

Im not really sure why you're so proud of your forum sleuthfulness. You havent exposed anything that I havent openly posted about E-Lie. I see him for what he is and nothing more. Im not a fan. There is no spin. There is no agenda other than pointing out the obvious about E-Lie. For rational Cowboy fans who dont adore E-Lie what I post would never be considered spin. You just arent a rational Cowboys fan. Your slobbering love affair with E-Lie reveals that. We have different perspectives. You adore E-Lie and I dont. Like I said previously, I was happy his team beat the Pats. However, I dont elevate him to a place he doesnt belong because of it, and you do.

If you're going to engage in discussions on a public forum and make strong statements about the team, it's players, opposing players/teams and the FANS on this board you need to do some investigating to be credible and to avoid being slammed. I don't accuse anyone of something unless I gloss over their history. Just because someone has a few posts trashing a player doesn't mean they necessarily hate that player but if they have a history of trashing them always going out of their way to create whatever opportunity they can to dump on them then it doesn't take a sleuth to figure out they have an agenda.

There's nothing wrong with trashing Eli but own up to the fact you hate him or at the very least really dislike him instead of denying the obvious. You've only been on this forum for just over a year but it's crystal clear you're on a hate mission against him. I don't start Eli threads and rarely ever mention him unless someone like you replies to me bringing him up.

For you to SPIN that I'm fixated on him when you have E-Lie this and E-Lie that all over the board from the time you arrived in March of 2012 makes you look silly. According to you he's my boy along with RG3 and several other QB's I've given some credit to. No offense man I know you mean well but you spin some ridiculous crap that even a FAN who's missing a few channels on their remote can see through.

Wow. I just have nothing else to say with this stuff.

close to 200 posts that Tony weighs too much....

...love this forum some times....

Prediction for future threads regarding tony:

* tony cuts nails, gets too close, will miss TC
* tony goes to high protein diet, but can't lose weight, over the hill?
* fatherhood doesn't agree with tony ,season lost? (after pic comes out with him pushing a stroller and not smiling)
* tony fails to prove that he studies like peyton
* tony runs in to jessica simpson, marraige in jeopardy?

what else do people have? let's get them all out now and stop the madness early!

I really think it's interesting how so many Cowboy fans get defensive when someone criticizes Romo.

I don't so much think it is defensive, but more of a broken record. We get it, at least I do, some like him and some do not.

With certain topics it's definitely a broken record. There are just some who will not go there with the weight issue however. Like a poster above in this thread, he thinks Tony looks the SAME from the two pics I posted (06' and 13'). Either he truly believes that, which I highly doubt, or he's just saying that to fit his argument. People can say this talk is "worthless," or get defensive about it, but you know what? I really don't care because my opinion will not change!

You mean, his body looks different now at 35 than it did when he was 25?

No way..

The burden of proof lies with someone making a claim.

Otherwise, by your flawed logic, someone could claim, "There is an 8,000-ton nugget of gold located beneath the Moon's surface," and then, if challenged for proof, retort, "Can you prove that there ISN'T? No, you can't, so therefore there is."

That's probably thee worst comparison I've ever read on this forum.

I can make statements based on my perspective and what I see. Im not aware of any internet posting requirement that I have to live up to.

Once again, I watch football as you do. You have a history of glowing adoration for E-Lie while I dont. You have your opinion and I have mine. There is nothing more to it. Its not about stats or research. Its about watching football and what you see on the field. There is no "exposure" going on here. There is no spin or agenda. Its just opinions about a football player.

Here's a real shocker for you - your opinion is worth no more than mine, or mine yours.

No amount of posting on this message board is going to make a particular NFL player more or less in shape.
