Carrie Underwood said today she never HAS dated Dallas quarterback Tony Romo.

All those rumors got kicked off when Carrie and Tony were spotted on the field together before the Cowboys Christmas Day game.

"The first time we met was on Christmas and it kind of took on a life of its own from there," Carrie said. "He's a very sweet guy. And any girl who would date him would be lucky, but it's not me."

The brouhaha that broke out after that Christmas Day meeting was cute at first, but then it took an uncomfortable turn, Carrie said.

Some sports commentators speculated last week that Tony was distracted by Carrie when he bobbled the snap for what would've been the winning field goal in a playoff game against the Seahawks.

"I did NOT cause Dallas to lose the game," Carrie said. "That was kind of hard.

"I know it was probably very hard for him to deal with people saying he didn't care about football."

Carrie caught some of the speculation on TV, calling that the "worst part" of this episode.

"There was one in particular that referred to me as 'some babe.' And that stung. Because you don't call a lady 'some babe.'"

Carrie says all this caused her to realize she might need a thicker skin.

Yes. The way they were hugging, I'm sure they weren't just friends.

Whether its true or not, it looks like she bailed on him when times were tough. Kind of a thing to do.

Romo faked us all out. While he never said that he was dating Jessica Simpson, he never denied it when he was asked.

He played the Underwood thing pretty well also. He is a sly dog that is making the most of his fame...let's just hope his 15 minutes isn't up.

Just so you know, he openly denied dating Simpson and openly affirmed dating Underwood.

Famous people? That means that lots of guys have hit it.

I'm just saying it's probably not unusual for famous people to hook up, get some nookie, and move on

hell, if I was young and famous, I wouldn't be hitching myself to one woman for very long...just yet

Linky please.

He played the Simpson thing as long as he could, until Simpson said that she had never even heard of the guy. I don't recall Romo denying a thing.

Then he was rumored to be dating Underwood. I'm not saying that he wasn't, as I could tell by the google eyes that she had for him while sitting in her skybox on Christmas day.

Perhaps Romo is just a playa that likes to spread his seeds. It is in a man's nature to mate and breed...with lots of hot chicks.

:)

Good Lord. That's worse than the "it's not you, it's me" break up. :bang2:

Some reporter said, that Romo said, they were dating? Actually "seeing" each other? Yeah, taking that one to the bank.

Consider yourself sucked.

Romo later said he was never dating Underwood and had just met her that day.

I remember Romo admitting to talking to her on the phone, but I never heard anything more concrete than that. He never said they were "dating". Besides, is this junior high or something? All of the talk is ridiculous anyway - especially the junk about how he wasn't focused on football.

It doesn't matter what they are saying now. After Romo becomes the Super bowl MVP next year, both Simpson and Underwood will be saying that they are dating Romo. :)

He was directly quoted as saying he was dating her. Sorry if I was sucked in by a direct quote from a newspaper. Though obviously they can be wrong, it would be silly to go around assuming that direct quotes from newspapers are always (or even usually) wrong.
