It's really amazing to watch you guys go ga-ga over who Romo might be dating. Some of you show the same interest in his dating habits as you do his completion pct. Very interesting.

I wonder what it would've been like if folks had been on messageboards hot and heavy when Aikman was the QB.

Carrie Underwood said today she never HAS dated Dallas quarterback Tony Romo.

All those rumors got kicked off when Carrie and Tony were spotted on the field together before the Cowboys Christmas Day game.

"The first time we met was on Christmas and it kind of took on a life of its own from there," Carrie said. "He's a very sweet guy. And any girl who would date him would be lucky, but it's not me."

The brouhaha that broke out after that Christmas Day meeting was cute at first, but then it took an uncomfortable turn, Carrie said.

Some sports commentators speculated last week that Tony was distracted by Carrie when he bobbled the snap for what would've been the winning field goal in a playoff game against the Seahawks.

"I did NOT cause Dallas to lose the game," Carrie said. "That was kind of hard.

"I know it was probably very hard for him to deal with people saying he didn't care about football."

Carrie caught some of the speculation on TV, calling that the "worst part" of this episode.

"There was one in particular that referred to me as 'some babe.' And that stung. Because you don't call a lady 'some babe.'"

Carrie says all this caused her to realize she might need a thicker skin.

Whether its true or not, it looks like she bailed on him when times were tough. Kind of a thing to do.

Another reporter asked her in a separate interview why Tony said they were dating. She said that she didn't know that she assumed he was being sarcastic in response to the Jessica Simpson rumors.

Yeah but I don't concern myself with Darren's marital status and I don't track his every social move. I don't even track his appearances on ESPN live. It's just a basic admiration of the man who laid it all out on the field.
