Last night really changed my take on Romo. While it wasn't his best game, he showed alot in terms of composure and I'm a true believer that he can get it done. You have to remember he's basically still a rookie out there and should settle down the more he plays.

please stop referring to romo as a rookie. he hasn't played a live game that counts yet but he's been around profesional coaching for 4 years now.

I agree. I was impressed when we were backup in at our own end zone and when it looked like he could have been sacked for a safety he was able to pull the ball down move to his right and find his target for a 1st down. He made some mistakes but did not seem to dwell on them or become hesitant. Every player will make mistakes but how you respond after a mistake says a lot about a player

He can only take on the challenge presented to him.

He's passed this challenge wtih nothing short of excellence.

That's in two PRE-SEASONs which is much more than two games.

4 TDs, and 3 INTs=excellence?

Against less-complicated defensive schemings?

He's shown promise, but not excellence. Steadiness, maybe.

When 2 of the INT's were the fault of the WR's, yeah. Its pretty close to excellence. The INT:Attempt rate and QB Rating would be staggering take those two away.

Yes, he might have played against less complicated defensive schemes, and he also probably played with a less complicated offensive scheme with little to no game planning to showcase what he does best. Parcells has hardly even called a bootleg with Romo in the game this season, even though one of his greatest traits is his accuracy on the run. Obviously, he wants to see him do other things that maybe he's not so comfortable with. Kind of balances out, really.

Also, don't forget that one of those INTs (pass to Hannam) should have been a TD. It hit him in stride with a clear angle to the EZ.

I agree that Romo has played really good this preseason, but even in his first game where he played well, and played the entire game we didn't score many points. Isn't that what many of us talk about all the time.... With all the completions, yards, etc how many scoring drives has he led us to this preseason. I do think he can be a franchise QB one day, but bottom line with all the great stats we haven't scored that many TD's with him? If I am wrong on this please let me know. It is just my take.

Guess What?

Manning, Palmer, Brady? They do it against first unit defenses. Romo has had most of his success against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

I'm encouraged, but let's not compare statistics that aren't comparable.

Some of these excuses are amazing...

I almost expect to see that some of Romo's interceptions were as good as a punt. :)

Well guess what Henson started over Brady in college. And He was a no namer in New England before Bledsoe. Give credit where it's due, everyone starts somewhere.

I had my doubts about Romo before but I think he's answered some question marks and is looking good doing it. For his first game, he should of crumbled under the spot light. I'm ofically on his bandwagon.

IMO, Romo shows promise but he's not ready to be a starter at this point. He's definatly not ready to be compared to good NFL QBs. The INTs last night were not the mistakes of the WRs IMO. They were balls that should not have been thrown IMO. If Romo can get past the impulse throws, he can probably be a pretty good QB. Until that happens, he's a liability IMO.
