What are you talking about? Do you mean he was not intended to be a starter as a rookie or ever?

He said, "I said the 1st 3 rds were for starters, not drafting developmental players." then proceeded to use Hitchens as proof that it is possible to draft starters in the first three rounds (then tried to escape it by saying he was drafted in the 4th round... I got confused there), but Hitchens was clearly meant to be a developmental player who would backup Sean Lee in case Sean Lee got hurt (that never happens lol) and most Cowboys fans were pissed when he was drafted. I am just saying, it is just as likely that Prewitt starts next year as it was that Hitchens would have started this year.

The only true expectation is that a 1st rounder should become a starter during his rookie season unless he is a QB. After the 1st expectations vary from team to team or year to year.

Since dallas did not have s 3rd rd pick, I used Hitchens as one of their top 3 players, which usually would be 1 2 and 3rd rds. It really.doesnt.matter, I was praising dallas' last draft. I was criticizing a draft where dallas would not get a healthy starter out of the top 3 picks. I was not back pedaling out of anything.

Exactly unless the guy drafted after a first is a kicker he probably won't be a starter.
