Uh, Romo. I've lived in Cowboy country my entire life and while only being in my mid 20's, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I have never seen an athlete as humble and as gifted as Romo be given less respect in any organized sport.

Lebron doesn't even get that much hate. He's widely regarded as one of the best players in the NBA and he's criticized because he's sucked in crunch time his entire career. How many 4th quarter comebacks has he brought his team back from? Yet he's still regarded as King James.

There are a large amount of people that'd take Joe *** Flacco over Romo. There are many that wanted us to draft a QB with the first pick so Romo wouldn't start. Still more wanted us to trade him for something ********.

It's Romo and it really isn't close.

I've lived in Dallas my whole life as well. While I do agree Romo gets more undeserved disrespect than Lebron, there is no debate over who gets more criticism. It's Lebron all day every day even in the off season. He is the face of the NBA right now, and he is one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet right now.

According to Google (As of 2011): Tony Romo is the #42 most talked about athlete on the web with 8,750,000 results. Right now Tony Romo is at 7,450,000 results. Lebron James was the #6 most talked about athlete on the web with 46,100,000 results. Right now Lebron has 117,000,000 results!

It's not even close, Lebron James is global figure; and without question more criticized than any athlete on the planet right now.

Not making excuses for lebron...he's horrendous down the stretch..absolutely awful

But

His coach is the worst in the nba
Wade is a shell (at best) of his former self
The rest of his supporting cast is a joke

Again-no excuses

Lebron brought all of this upon himself
He does nothing to take over games

It's a huge mess in south beach

Also, living in Dallas really has nothing to do with this discussion. Obviously, inside Dallas the Romo debate is pretty much one of the top sports debates; because it is Dallas. But on a global stage, nobody thinks about Tony Romo like they do Lebron.

Those are all excuses. Wade may not be what he once was, but he's still one if the best players in the NBA. Miller, Haslem, Chalmers, Battier, etc are very solid role players. He has more than enough talent around him.

You are crazy. Those players are horrendous. Stop bull****ting and call it fair.

Lebron sucks. Fair

But his teammates are awful

His coach is even worse. No organization can except to have championship aspirations w a loser leading the show. Spo isn't even close to good enough

I think a lot of people genuinely hate LeBron due to "the decision".

If Romo played for a different team he would probably be one of the more liked qbs in the league, but he is hated due to being a Cowboys player. He is hated due to being a cowboys player. A lot of people bash him but it is mostly due to the team, not him as a person.

Lebron is actually being hated as a person. People root for him to fail.

They're not horrendous. They're solid role players. For all the talk about LeBron making his teammates better they seem to get worse with him. Spo gets way too much heat. It's not his fault LeBron consistently chokes under pressure or that Wade waits till the 4th quarter to show up.

His teammates are not awful. In Cleveland they were but in Miami he has a solid group of role players.

Spoelstra sucks but that is about it.

It's not Spos fault their half court offense is a joke? It's been two years and they have ZERO set plays to run down the stretch.

Iso wade or iso lebron isnt a play

Look at OKC. Look at the spurs. Those are championship caliber role players.

I agree. So are the Heat. They have a deeper team this year and they were in the finals last year. What makes you think he can't win with them? They are good players.

I don't think they compliment James and wade well. Not at all

Lebron is the star of the team. The onus is on him. Don't get me wrong. He shoulders the blame

The Heat role players are horrible. Mike Miller can barely even walk. At this point in their careers, Miller and Battier are journeymen not role players. The only true role player they might have is Haslem and he's a 6'8" PF.

Compare this years Heats role players to the Mavs role players from last year and tell me which one you would swap out.

None of them!

Lebron for sure.

If Romo wasn't playing for the most hated team in the NFL, nobody would even care about his performance.

Wrong terms to pick:

Google results for:
Tony Romo sucks: About 374,000 results
Lebron James sucks: About 2,360,000 results

Compared to current results:

374,000 / 7,450,000 = 5.02% of results say Romo sucks.
2,360,000 / 117,000,000 = 2.01% of results say James sucks.

Based off google results, Romo is bashed 2.5x more frequently.

Thanks for you answers. I understand why many say that Lebron gets bashed more. If he can step up tonight and help the Heat win the East and beat OKC that would help him a lot. OKC will be favored no matter who they play.

I hope that Romo shuts the haters up. That depends on the rest of the team, last season the Defense put the team in a bad spot. We got better players on Defense and just need them to show that improvement on the field.

Yes, I believe the OP asked who gets bashed more.

Just because 3 people say Lebron gets bashed more doesnt necessarily make it so. In your little world, maybe he does. In reality and out here in the big world a rational person can probably make a legitimate argument for either. My observation would tend to lean toward Romo getting more bashing. In your little world apparently all is well for Romo except for a few knuckleheads here and there.

Yes, i live in a little world, and you live out there in the great big world.

..this is why its not worth discussing with you, bub.

That's what happens when you use 95 percent of your teams salary cap space on 3 players.

Let them keep crying about it though.. James simply isn't good enough to take over games and pull out wins in the postseason. Just another lesson to show that teams win championships, not individual players. That's a lesson the Heat organization is going to learn the hard way over the next several years, as they put themselves in a huge hole with the deals they handed out to these three.

This is the crux of the situation. Good post.

Spo still sucks
