Romo Pick Play Commentary?

Looked like a pick play to me in real time which means it probably looked like a pick play to the refs in real time and that's why you get a flag. Similar to PI.. if it looks like PI in real time you'll most likely get a flag only to go back to instant reply and see it wasn't that egregious. But they usually, with rare exceptions, are not going to reverse those calls after the flag was thrown
I thought it was a pick play in real time too. But on the replay it looked like a no call.
We got a lot of breaks in that game

Some of the PI penalties against KC were weak . I like officiating crews that let NFL players be the focus this wasn’t that crew

Did anything notice Romo looked weird yesterday? Not that they show commentators that often, but even my family randomly walking in the room stopped and said what’s up with Romo’s face?

Looks like he got Botox or something.
I did notice it when he went to the hug Jerry, but I figured it was the camera angle.

Romo is a Mahomes, KC fan it seems. He is always sucking up to Mahomes.

It was a pick play.
KC does that a lot, and disguises it well. So it does not get called as it should all the time.

GB and Philly do the same thing.
I think Romo is mountaineer, he just can't let it go...

I think too many fans expect their former player announcers to be “pro Cowboys” instead of being professional enough to be honest in their critique. If any team makes a great play they should say it and if any team makes a bad play say it as well.

If a fan wants to hear cheerleader points of view, listen to the Cowboys radio broadcast. And those guys are even more balanced than many home team announcers. The Philly broadcasters are so cheerleader-ish, it’s hilarious.

For years I’ve seen some Cowboys fans blast Troy Aikman for being “anti-Cowboys” which is completely unfair . Troy is a consummate professional. He tells it like he sees it, just as he did in his glory days as Cowboys QB. He had no problem calling out teammates who didn’t meet team standards.

Broadcasters are supposed to first be professional. I think Romo and Aikman do a good job, although Troy is way better IMO.
Romo is bad at the job. His voice is bad (sounds like he gargles sand), and more than one rumor has made its way out there about him not doing research as well as being inebriated during broadcasts.

I don't care if he's pro or anti Cowboys, I just think he sucks at the job.

Would like to see it again but looked pretty standard for what could, or could not be, flagged. Hit or miss, which is kinda the problem.

It was a pick.

Romo didn't agree, not because he's a "KC Fan" but because he's generally always been a "Let them play" fan.

He took a bit of a player mentality to his analysis but he was wrong, Gene told him he was wrong. He did hold to it a bit much but eventually dropped it and even said Gene knows best.

And Bob said it best, stop expecting these former Cowboys players to be Cheerleaders. Irvin is one but that's why he's not doing color in the booth. Expect these men to be professionals, and Aikman and Romo are.

In fairness to Romo (and as someone who loves to see KC lose), Mahomes played better than Dak in nearly every metric except the final score. Let's face it, PM made some jaw-dropping, Houdini-like plays almost no one else in the League could pull off to keep his team in it.

So, I totally get the effusive praise from a fellow scramblin', gamblin' man.

Hey, who isn't getting tanked the day before Thanksgiving?
Back in the day when I played in a cover band, Thanksgiving Eve was one of the most rockin rowdiest nights of the year. Rivaled NYE.

Not entirely sure why...other than people were getting ready to spend a lot of time with family.

pretty much every team uses plays that could be called pick plays

it all comes down to how well you disguise it
Exactly! If you practice it and run it often...just becomes part of your scheme.

If you don't practice and run it often, "people" (refs) notice.

I would not say he was biased, he was pretty decent, but some of his comments could make a fan question it. Depending on their take.
Other than saying it was not pick play he was actually fair about the QB's.

Except, every time he bragged about Mahomes and how great he was playing, he then would say .. both QB's are playing great.
But he always mentioned Mahomes first before Dak.

It wasn't until lat in the game when Dallas had a 10 point lead before he mentioned Dak 1st.
Mahomes is the greatest qb Ive ever seen play. I cant imagine why Tony would be talking up how great the guy is, or why he would possibly give ahomes a little more credit then Dak.

An announcer is allowed to be wrong. It doesn't mean they are biased one way or the other.
Plus, that was a debatable call. I wouldn't fault a ref going either way on it.
That’s why they should stick to what’s happening on the field and not what they think is happening. That’s just my opinion of a good commentator.

You’re young, I can understand why you think he’s the greatest you’ve ever seen. But he’s not even close. I can name so so many more.

Assume you do, yea? Ive seen them all in the modern era... and I can name all of the same ones you are going to name, and IMO, Mahomes is better. Now, do I also think the qb rules favor today's QBs over 70s qbs? Staubach would be amazing in modern football. But I am not sure how you can say Mahomes isnt great. The guys has been to the AFC title game EVERY YEAR of his career since he became the starter in his 2nd year. He absolutely wills his team to wins, and in the playoffs he has basically been lights out.

They will all tell you that he does stuff they couldn't. I'm not young (unfortunately) and absolutely say we've never seen anyone quite like him.
