I hadn't picked this up before. Not sure how I misssed it. I'm probably reposting this, but it is therapy for me. I'm a Romo fan, but yes, this bothers me. While he clearly wants to win, he certainly doesn't seem all that broken up about Sunday.

Tony Romo ruffled some feathers Sunday evening with his oh-well response to a question about how he deals with his difficulties in big games.
"I wake up tomorrow and keep living. You don't [deal with it]. You just keep playing the game. It's a fun game, and it's enjoyable. We're going to try to win next year. We're going to try to get back in the playoffs, and we're going to try to win a Super Bowl. "If you don't, OK. If you do, OK. Then you're really a great player. If you don't, you're just a solid, good player, and I'll have to deal with that, not you guys. That's just part of the job.
"I've had a lot worse things happen to me than a loss in a sporting event, that's for sure. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, then I'll have lived a pretty good life."

I actually appreciate his comments.

I guess I want the fiery leader that couldn't stand to loose (i.e. Roger and Troy). I've accepted he's not the fiery leader and never will be. Which is why we need a fiery coach IMO. However, he seemed a lot more broken up about the losses after the Gints and Hawks than Sunday.

I'm not too shaken up over his comments.

His comments would be doomed either way by some folks

A bit more passion about the worst effort i have seen recently would of been good. :bang2:

He should of thrown his team mates under the bus and complained about not getting the ball more. Fans around he love that kind of thing.

I hope every word he says for the next eight months is put under the microscope, its the only way of telling if he cares about the game or if he can win a Superbowl. Anything less and we are being remiss as fans.

I confess...

I don't know how anyone can loose.

While I do sense some "I don't care" attitude in that statement, the part in which he says that "I've had a lot worse things happen to me" is pretty good. A Cowboys loss isn't going to be the end of the world for me. It may hurt a little, but it's not the worst thing that could ever happen.

It's a healthy outlook on life. If he did his postgame press conference standing on the edge of a building, well, that'd be a much bigger issue.

Here is a link of Tony that many may want to listen to if you haven't already. This is who I believe the real TONY is & not something you saw after a game when wether it was your type of emotion or my type of emotion or lack there of to me in that setting it was still all too fresh as with any other babbling player that nite. When a person comes off like that they are usually in protective mode for themselves. It's not unusal to come off as cocky but don't for one minute think Tony wasn't feeling it. Physical pain & emotional pain is not easy.

Why has no one even asked about this mans injurys & how he is actually doing?

Anyways here is the link. Click on Tony & you will see three videos you may want to check out.

Maybe a good thing to think to yourself, but a stupid thing to say to the world.

Exactly. At least pretend you're upset for the fans, it's really the least you can do after the embarrassment you put them through.

We understand you're young, rich and have a pretty girlfriend, so life probably isn't all that bad. But the people that allowed you to have the lifestyle you have where losing a game isn't going to change anything for your day to day life would appreciate a little more fire.

In fairness to Romo the reporter asked him how he will handle being labeled "can't win the big game QB" since the last 2 seasons ended in failure and now losing this "win & in" game to Philly.

So his answer was really answering the "can't win the big games" label.

I think it's a healthy outlook on life, but I think sometimes the uber-competitive athletes that enjoy immense success lack such level-headedness. It's hard imagining Michael Jordan spewing Romo's quote 20 minutes after a big loss.

Now, I don't think it's the end of the world by any means. I don't think it means Romo doesn't care. But I do wonder if it sheds some light into maybe the fact that Romo is too sane about winning and losing. Being a little off the edge can be good for athletes I think.

Lastly, I think this quote would be perfectly fine if uttered in May. It's in the past, he's reflecting and it's healthy to already have moved past it and be focused on the future instead of dwelling on the past. But again, 20 minutes after the game? I'm not sure it is a good sign that he could be so psychologically stable at that moment.

His attitude matches his play - weak. If we win, it's okay. If we lose, it's okay. That's fine for my kids t-ball team, but when you are being paid millions per year, when you lose, it ISN'T okay, and it sure as hell isn't okay when you get obliterated 44-6.

That is not okay. Repeat after me Tony - your performance this year was not okay. Your failure to protect the ball was not okay. Your constant fumbling is not okay. Your inability to lead your team to victory is not okay. And your "when is my tee time" attitude to the job you do is NOT OKAY.

I am not one of those who thinks Romo cannot get the job done, and that he should be ditched or written off. But his attitude is NOT the attitude of a champion. It's frankly not even the attitude of a professional.

If I wanted a freaking hamburger and fries, it is not okay if they screw it up. I don't want people cooking my food, or repairing my car, or teaching my kids, to have the attitude that if they don't do their job well, it's okay.

It's not okay Tony. Not by a longshot.

Maybe he was more shaken up because he played worse against the Gints and Hawks. Those games you could point the finger at him...against PHilly it was everyone. He probably didn't shoulder the blame like he did in the other two.

Thank you for getting it, Venger. Tony's attitude is a prime example of what's wrong with today's professional sports: No matter how badly you play, you're rich. The NFL needs a refresher from the old school. The players that got paid $300 dollars a week and had to earn their livings.
