I could care less what Romo Says as long as this team is winning. But we aren't winning so...Yes Romo is a J*** A**.

He has the heart of a lion during regular season games and the heart of a cowardly coyote during big games. He has lost his teammates and will soon lose his coaches. He has the mouth of Ryan Leaf and the brain of Brett Favre. Brett won a Superbowl but it wasn't because of him, it was inspite of him.

I wish Romo would just stand up and lead by example. Spend more time watching film, at the practice facility, and with teammates. This might make everyone around him want to do the same and become better. Instead we get a QB who acts like a 40 year old Brett Favre. Making the "oh well" comments. Heck why not come out and say your ready to retire just like your premadonna girlfriend Favre, Romo.

I actually appreciate his comments.

I don't.

Sure, on his own PERSONAL level, the comments are fine. But...

"I wake up tomorrow and keep living. You don't [deal with it]. You just keep playing the game. It's a fun game, and it's enjoyable. We're going to try to win next year. We're going to try to get back in the playoffs, and we're going to try to win a Super Bowl. "If you don't, OK. If you do, OK. Then you're really a great player. If you don't, you're just a solid, good player, and I'll have to deal with that, not you guys. That's just part of the job.
"I've had a lot worse things happen to me than a loss in a sporting event, that's for sure. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, then I'll have lived a pretty good life."

All those I's and Me's are great for him, but he has to realize that there's 52 other men in the lockerroom counting on him to be at his best. It's not just about HIM, it's about the team.

He was asked how he would personally deal with questions about him not winning big games.

That's an "I" question. Not a team question.

Just before the game wining drive in the Super Bowl against Cinci, Joe Montana looked up into the stands and said "Hey, that's John Candy!"

I know I'm going to get roasted for this but,
What Romo SAID is actually a good thing for an athlete that plays a position that is, to a large degree, mental. You have to go into big games wanting to give it your all, but with the idea that your life is not in the balance, that if you win great, if you lose, come back again next week or next year and be better. If you have a bad game, learn what you can and use it as motiviation, but don't dwell on it.
The problem is, he doesn't take his own advice. Go back and watch his early games. He was having fun, he was confident, he was spreading the ball around. Now he looks like he is miserable most of the time, he forces balls, he is starting to lack confidence. He cares too much about what the media and the fans say. I'm starting to believe that his December play is becoming a self-fufilling prophecy. He didn't cost us that playoff game in Seattle, but the media told him he did, and he started to believe that he is a choker.

is there already a iDontcare shirt in TO's shop?

This attitude might be healthy on a personal level, not if you want to be the best in your sport.
Players who don't care if they lose or not will lose. If thats really his attitude he should go and play golf.

That's an "I" question. Not a team question.

Every "I" question can be turned into a "we" answer if you want it to be, and it probably should after a loss like that, knowing the significance of the game.

Nate was on Talkin' Cowboys talking about how Troy used to be very short in his answers in those type of situations because he knew he was the face of the franchise, not because he didn't have more to say.

The ESPN guys on radio in Dallas say he comes across as flippant.

Yep. He does.

Bob and Dan on the Ticket had the best take. Now Bob is seriously gay for Romo, but even he was disappointed in his comments. Dan was pretty funny, and while he usually gives me tired head, he was dead on, talking about "if this is the worst thing that happens" - as if saying since it wasn't the worst thing that happened, like genocide in Darfur, that we all shouldn't worry about it. It was genius.

I dont like what he said at all. When I lost in sports, especially meaningful games, I was mad as hell and it WAS the worst thing that ever happened in my life at the time. I was that angry.

For me, the disdain I have for losing outweighs the joy I have for winning. That's just me. I love to win, but I HATE to lose more....if that makes sense.

Well, Troy was more of a leader, more demanding, and more of just about everything than Tony. I don't think there's much doubt about that.

Most excellent post Rack. The thing that gets me is the fact that he is the perceived leader of the team. If not the leader, at the QB position, he is definitely one of the leaders out there. As a leader speaking for his team there should undoubtedly be some we in that response... Sure, the reporter directed the question to him only but that's his time to shed the light on the team and subliminally let it be known that they are still a team despite such an embarrassing loss.

I hate to lose with a passion and if you were to stick a mic in my face after a devastating loss I guarantee you the response that comes from the heart will be a little more than the ho hum they got from Tony.

Romo's response is the type of response you would expect after a loved one had passed away. Is football or sports in general the most important thing in life? NO.

Now how could he even allow these comments to come out of his after just getting whipped by the Eagles. As fans we don't want to hear about how unimportant football is after a loss. If it's so unimportant after a loss then explain to my why wins are important Favr... I mean Romo.

If I were Romo and I said these types of things, my entire family would not only question my heart, they would rip me to shreds and say thats not how we raised you loser!!

The guy had just regained consciousness from collapsing moments earlier. I have passed out before (obviously non-football related). When you wake up and find yourself lying on the floor, it puts things in perspective. He was experiencing mental, emotional and physical anguish at that moment. He was asked a me question and gave a me answer. It us understandable under the circumstances. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THE INTERVIEW at a time like that. Of course, if he hadn't, everyone would be mad about that.

I passed out one time and in 5 seconds I was back to normal. I don't think that excuse works too well.
