I passed out one time and in 5 seconds I was back to normal. I don't think that excuse works too well.

Depends on what you passed out from, I guess. Any 300 pounders landing on you and tossing you around?:laugh2:

Broken ribs, hostile media and disappointment in himself and his teammates led to a less than fan-friendly response. Boo Hoo. Give the guy a break. He has given nothing but politically correct responses up to this point.

My friend held my kneck and made me pass out, and I could have easily done a press conference without sounding like a total tool.

I don't.

Sure, on his own PERSONAL level, the comments are fine. But...

"I wake up tomorrow and keep living. You don't [deal with it]. You just keep playing the game. It's a fun game, and it's enjoyable. We're going to try to win next year. We're going to try to get back in the playoffs, and we're going to try to win a Super Bowl. "If you don't, OK. If you do, OK. Then you're really a great player. If you don't, you're just a solid, good player, and I'll have to deal with that, not you guys. That's just part of the job.
"I've had a lot worse things happen to me than a loss in a sporting event, that's for sure. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, then I'll have lived a pretty good life."

All those I's and Me's are great for him, but he has to realize that there's 52 other men in the lockerroom counting on him to be at his best. It's not just about HIM, it's about the team.

I'm going to guess the question he was answering probably asked something similar to "how are you going to deal with this loss."

If that's the case, then responding with a few "I's" and "me's" doesn't shock me at all, and really shouldn't shock anyone. Those are pretty necessary (or, at least, common) words when someone is responding to a question about themselves.

Also, since you're counting, there were three "we's" in there. One less than the four "I's" and one more than the two "me's" :laugh2:

Blaming the collapse is weak.

He was very conscious of the words that came out of his mouth. And I think he had been prepared to use that cop-out philisophical nonsense well before the game even started if we had lost.

Most excellent post Rack. The thing that gets me is the fact that he is the perceived leader of the team. If not the leader, at the QB position, he is definitely one of the leaders out there. As a leader speaking for his team there should undoubtedly be some we in that response... Sure, the reporter directed the question to him only but that's his time to shed the light on the team and subliminally let it be known that they are still a team despite such an embarrassing loss.

:laugh2:

Really, give it another shot. You just might catch the "we" (or three) that you're looking for.

The next excuse is his pinky wasn't fully healed so the words just came out like that.

There should have been more... and while we're at it there should have been more remorse and accountability in the comments as a whole...

Romo has 67 million reasons to care just a little bit more than a disinterested party.

When will some of you wake up and notice that Romo isn't a fiery, in-yo-face leader who wears his emotions on his sleeve? He is what he is and I doubt he's going to change to appease some "fans"! Just like he's brushing off the "loser QB" stigma attached to him I doubt he give's a rat's rear-end about some of us questioning his drive or commitment.

Therein lies the problem. He doesn't care enough.

I actually appreciate his comments.

me too. it's called resilience, not apathy.

...by the way, if he had bawled his eyes out, some people would be saying he's too soft. can't have it both ways.

I prefer perseverance over resilience... Show me the big game money.

No one can truly judge the reactions of others and know exactly what they're feeling inside. Crying after a 6-44 drubbing would seem to be a bit of an odd reaction. Most people that just get their ***** handed to them on arguably one of the greatest stages in sports are usually just a tad pissed off.

Pissed off/Angry does not equal tears... Hell, if he cried it would have at least made me feel as if he cared.

Doesn't matter how the question was worded. My point still stands.
