Actually, I'd say being in the top 10 winningest college programs for the past 40 or years or so - if not more - says your wrong.

See, that's all over now. They're second fiddle to Texas A&M for the foreseeable future.
But that's besides the point.

And I don't have a horse in that race either.

You're a moron if you don't acknowledge that things are cyclical in top tier programs - which like it or not includes the University of Texas at Austin. And Michigan. And Notre Dame. And USC. Etc. These are the programs that will wax and wane and ultimately wax again. It is what it is. And the bottom feeders will grasp and grasp and almost break through but... they won't. I hope the thought of that makes you cry in your pillow tonight.

What is the worst that could happen if he played through it. I played a season of softball with a broken collarbone, hurt like hell to throw and bat but nothing too unbearable, considering it was my right collarbone and I am right handed. Since he is the QB it isn't like he will be drive blocking or taking on too many tackles.

You're kidding, right?

Romo says he'll miss 8 weeks.

That's 7 games with the bye.

We're 2-0

At worst I believe we will go 2-5 in those games. At worst. More likely 3-4 or 4-3.

So we will be around .500 or slightly over and no one else in our division will be any better.

Then Romo and Dez come back and the easier part of our schedule to close the year.

We are making the playoffs.

I agree 5-4 or 6-3

This is great opportunity for the "intelligence" of individual players to increase. These guys are way below.

Gotta hone those skills.

How early Romo comes back is not related to his pain tolerance. It has to heal and won't be allowed to play through the pain if not healed properly.

No he isn't as long as read #1 is open but all he has is a fastball, no touch, so so accuracy.

Well said. He does have arm strength, but seems to be the opposite of Romo in terms of read and react, which makes him easy to defend over an entire game - hence his low 70's career passér rating.

We wouldn't have won either game with Weeden as a starter, cut your teeth on that one. Nothing amazing about that.

Think you didn't quite get my point. I'm not saying Weeden is better than Romo or even close. If Romo is a 9 out of 10, Weeden is probably a 3. Bradford looked like a 2. And fans here on the board are talking about trading real draft picks for guys who are 3's and 2's. Romo cannot be replaced, just like any other top tier QB. No backup is available now or in preseason who wouldn't compromise other positions due to their cap figure.

We are up a certain creek without a paddle, and Weeden is our goofy second mate who's going to have to try to go .500. It can happen and no other better help will come.

I'm not too familiar with the fan, credible or not so credible? Or are they doom and gloomers

They are credible. They are the official station of the Cowboys but it was Jesse Holley who actually stated about the spiral separation. He was just stating worse case if that is what it is.

Weeden's last outing was 7-7 for 73 yards 1 Td and 0 Ints

See vs. Arizona 2014. He looked pretty good on the back end of the Washington game...at least before Romo forced his way back in. But maybe he has learned not to stare down his receivers since then. Starting is hardly the same as merely finishing with a 13-0 lead.

Definitely time to go QB in the 2016 Draft. If Weeden is terrible then at least we could have a Top-10 pick

It's sad it took so long for Dallas to get behind him as a whole. Anyone with a television can see how special of a talent he is.

How special of a guy he is. Anyone who has payed any attention to Romo and isn't in his corner is an idiot. There's not a player in the league thats put more of themselves into the game or shown the heart he has shown.

The good news is we're in a great position being 2-0 and the rest of the division being [censored]. The bad news is ... Brandon Weeden.

We've long questioned why he's on the roster, bemoaned his check-down nature, and said how we're screwed if he's at the helm for any length of time. Oh boy.

Going back to the good news ... if we can somehow just squeak out a couple of wins over the next, say, 6 weeks, we'd be 4-4. That wouldn't feel so bad.
