Romo said this wasnt a big game, the governors cup and all. Romo stated something like its just another game. Well, the team played like that too. The team feeds off of the QB, since he is the leader.

Next, Romo said, he deserved to be paid more than Schaub for the Texans, did Romo out play Schaub, no way.

Romo fumbled 2 snaps on shotgun formation, one was real bad, is that the same thing like he wasnt concertrating like in the Seattle game. Remember now, I didnt say this but Parcells did. He said sometimes Romo mind is somewhere else for that spllit second.

So, does Romo deserve to be paid more than Schaub after what happened in Houston. No, I would point that out to him too. He needs to get that silly smirk off of his face, and be serious about football.

If I was the offensive coordinator and head coach, and Jerry Jones, I would point all of that out to him, and the interception he threw was well underthrown, he made the receivers wait on the ball too long on several occasions.

Then, he threw the ball to Witten on the touchdown pass, leading him into the defensive back for the big hit Witten received. Does, Romo deserve more money for that, NO!!!!!!!!!!!

He needs to be accoutable, and if he is suppose to be the leader of the team, he needs to act like it, and not just another game attitude.

I'm willing to give Romo the season to see how he does, it's not like they're goin' to the superbowl or anything, but if I were ole Jethro:eek:: i'd wait until near the end of the season or after the season to talk contract. If he does good pay him big moolah, he should get it, if not, don't, let him go and draft a QB.

I dont want Romo to fall, I want Romo to be serious about football.

If you remember when they told Romo about the governors cup, etc, he said, its just another preseason game, no big deal.

Thats what I am saying, its his attitude.

If you were listening to guys like The Moose whom knows football more than we ever know or can comprehend, he said that Romo should have led Witten to the outside, not lead Witten inside to get the big hit, you can get a player killed like that. Next, Romo said why he fumbled snap was due to loud noise, again that is an excuse, not owning up to the fact, that he played like just a preseason game and didnt count. Which, when he acted like that, so did most of the team.

If you read some of craytons remarks, he said, he wants to play Houston again, he wants the commissioner to schedule the cowboys and texans every season during the season. Now, he is hungry, but like Fergueson said, they got hit in the mouth, and they werent ready.

The QB is suppose to be leader of the team, not just a game.

Several other passes Romo overlead the receivers, if you remember the pass to T O, he had to wait on the ball, even The Moose said so, so Romo was off last night, does he deserve more money for playing that way compared to Schaub, no way.

If he is to be the leader, which I want him to own up, take control of the team, and not let that split second happen like he did on the shotgun snap, to me, that looked just like the play in Seattle, he was thinking about something else for that split second, he even admitted he should have had it, thats what I am saying, I want him to grow up, and become the leader I think he can be. His ATTITUDE needs to change for us to be winners.

A few things here:

1) A quarterback, especially one under duress, cannot be expected to hit his receivers precisely in the hands on each pass. Witten is a big boy, has played this game a long time, and fully expects to get hit. He understands he is paid to make difficult catches, not easy ones. His endzone collision was far worse than it should've been because the defensive back intentionally speared him. I expect this hit will generate a hefty fine from the league office.

2) Babe Laufenberg, not Daryl "the Moose" Johnston, was the television broadcaster who castigated Romo for poor ball placement on the pass to Witten. However, Babe Laufenberg was one of the worst quarterbacks I've ever watched at the pro level.

3) You're likely not a clinical psychologist, and even if you were, it's doubtful you've ever had a session with Tony Romo; ergo, you're hardly qualified to assess his mental state and attitude by his media demeanor.

4) It's preseason, and the primary goal is evaluation, not winning. The players understand this; otherwise, the coaches wouldn't pull them halfway through the games. If Romo had deemed this game "a big deal," I would be concerned that he wasn't more upset at his lack of playing time.

Can't believe this thread is two pages. It should be one post.
It's up to 25 replies now and I've got my forum settings set at 40 posts per page.

Ergo, I can't believe that this thread is a little over half a page. :D

I worry about some fans when we lose a game that actually counts.

We're gonna need a hot line. I'll pray for the 2nd-story dwellers.

Pray for the ground floor dwellers instead. They'll jump out of their windows first, pop up a second later and yell, "I'm still alive!"--only to die a moment later after the second floor dwellers land on top of them. Oh, the humanity.

Now there's a thought. A possible two-fer?

Hmmm, career stats:

Romo 10 starts, 337 attempts, 220 completions, 2903 yards, 19 TDs, 13 Ints, 95.3 rating, 65.3% completions, 8.6 ypa

Schaub 2 starts, 161 attempts, 84 completions, 1033 yards, 6 TDs, 6 Ints, 69.2 rating, 52.2% completions, 6.4 ypa

Yeah, I'd say that Romo deserves to be paid more than Schaub. You will notice, however, that I did not include preseason stats. NFL.com lists them separately, since they mean... nothing.

When I was a receiver, I told the QB to put it near me and I'll do the rest. Every pass isn't going to be perfect, sometimes the receiver actually has to work at catching it.
If the ball touches you at all, its catchable. Thats what my coaches always said anyway before the made me do some pushups.

I love having Romo here and think he is going to do a great job for us. On Sat in my opinion he seemed a little off even on balls completed they were a bit off the mark. I give Houston credit for a very good job in coverage but I think Romo could have been sharper than he was.

I am totally out of sink here. Last week we got pounded for illegal ethics because we beat up on pour little Denver so badly now we are being raked over the coals for not standing up to Houston. Romo is just a man, he does all he can to win but "he is just ONE PERSON" out their on that field. I want him to win, every week, but good or bad I am still going to stand back and give him room to do the best he can.

Yah.. and while I want him to get better and to PROTECT THE BALL... Every
QB has these types of days.

I understand that. I was just making an observation that Romo seemed to be a bit off the mark in this game. I'm not down on him by any means
