Of course we should but that's not a reality.

Commanders placed Cousins on Franchise Tag.They wouldn't have tagged him if they were interested in pursuing Romo,

They tagged him to either keep him or get something in return.

Nice try but as said previously, the agreed "DoRight" rule is that Tony will not sign with a rival team and Jerry
will work to get Tony on a team he could be successful with even if he has to outright release him. In every
scenario qualify through the "DoRight".

If Dallas releases Romo outright for nothing as expected, we'd better put up a suicide hotline for this board. LOL
That would definitely be Romo friendly but it's still difficult for me to swallow Jerry is willing to walk away from Romo without any compensation plus Romo would then have to resign for much less to another team for an opportunity to play .

Like you I'd prefer then hanging on to Romo because I'm not completely sold Dak may not still have some problems. And then the more likelyhood of a trade if a team is desperate.

I think this hypothetical would have a good chance of biting us in the short term, but I would still pull the trigger in an instant.

It's difficult for me to believe that as soon as Gruden is resigned as HC he's going to make such a move.

No, Cousins has been his guy since he benched RG3 for him.

We can trade that #17 and our #28 draft pick for the #1 pick to get Myles though.
No you couldn't.

I really believe people don't pay attention to just how expensive top 3 picks are. We wanted a 3rd from the Ravens to move from 3 to 5. But now 17 and 28 moves all the way to 1? Yikes.

And as ESPN would say if that happens than that is all you need to know about Romo's health. I would do it without hesitation.

I agree that I think the Gruden-Cousins relationship is good. But I don't think that's the whole picture.

A lot of reports that Cousins is a Shanahan guy and that he's never forgiven management for forcing Griffin out there instead of him. And that management is tired of Cousins having them over a barrel financially and having to repeatedly tag him at higher and higher rates, while not winning anyway.

They're a dumpster fire over there and it wouldn't shock me at all if they parted ways with Cousins.

This is exactly right.

In that scenario, it would take #17, #28, and probably a second-round pick to get there. Maybe even a 4th for good measure.

Here's why it will never happen.

If it did, I would have to sign up for heel transplant surgery after clicking my heels so much that they are worn down to a nub.

I keep hearing that the Commanders will part with Kirk Cousins and that the 49ers are suitors (if they give up the second overall pick, they're stupid). If this happens, that leaves the Skins without a QB. Glennon has been floated as a possibility. But let's assume, the Skins don't get him. If the Skins offer their first pick in this draft (#17) for Romo, do you take it?
Or are you still adamant that he shouldn't go to a division rival? Or are you scared that he might execute vengeance upon the Cowboys.

100% and thank my lucky stars!!!!!

I think it'd probably take next year's 1st and our 2nd this year...at a minimum. And i'd still not be convinced that would git it done.

We have too many holes. We aren't one player away. This doesn't make sense.

Here's my thinking.

Striking gold with Dak is essentially giving you a #1 pick (possibly two) when all it actually cost you was a 4th rounder.

Your biggest need - far and away - is for a dominant pass rusher.

And Garrett is the surest thing in this entire draft, at least as sure as these things can be. While I wouldn't give up an entire draft, because, as you've said we do have other needs, I'd be willing to part with multiple picks. And that would include next year's #1 pick.

You would still have multiple picks to fill other needs, while having your biggest, most important needs, filled.
