I think it'd probably take next year's 1st and our 2nd this year...at a minimum. And i'd still not be convinced that would git it done.

In this Commanders scenario, I could see the 49ers giving up the No. 2 for Cousins, then Washington giving up their other first-round pick for Romo. I don't see them giving Dallas the No. 2 pick for him though.

That is, if the Commanders are really interested in Romo.

However, they're about to lose Garcon and Jackson, and the tight end is a concussion machine who might retire any minute. Not sure this is prudent on their part right now.

I agree that I think the Gruden-Cousins relationship is good. But I don't think that's the whole picture.

A lot of reports that Cousins is a Shanahan guy and that he's never forgiven management for forcing Griffin out there instead of him. And that management is tired of Cousins having them over a barrel financially and having to repeatedly tag him at higher and higher rates, while not winning anyway.

They're a dumpster fire over there and it wouldn't shock me at all if they parted ways with Cousins.
First I've heard that Cousins is a Shanahan guy and is upset they benched RG3 for him. Lol

It wouldn't make sense to me from their perspective either, but they look like a rudderless ship right now, with no clear direction. So nothing they could do - however screwy - would truly surprise me.

We can trade that #17 and our #28 draft pick for the #1 pick to get Myles though.

I wouldn't do that. We can get 2 very good starters.. in fact we will get a very good starter I. The 2nd round too if we don't get our yearly Injured player

I keep hearing that the Commanders will part with Kirk Cousins and that the 49ers are suitors (if they give up the second overall pick, they're stupid). If this happens, that leaves the Skins without a QB. Glennon has been floated as a possibility. But let's assume, the Skins don't get him. If the Skins offer their first pick in this draft (#17) for Romo, do you take it?
Or are you still adamant that he shouldn't go to a division rival? Or are you scared that he might execute vengeance upon the Cowboys.
Assuming everyone is up for it, heck yes!

Now, back to the real world.
I'd say if there were 50 possible scenarios out there, this might be the very least likely to happen in real life.

You seem to be the only one opposed to it. You mind stating why?
Because Romo is good enough to make us have to play in the first round. I want first round byes.

You trade Romo to WAS, and the division becomes a bloodbath for the next 2-3 years.

I wouldn't do that. We can get 2 very good starters.. in fact we will get a very good starter I. The 2nd round too if we don't get our yearly Injured player
Cleveland would never agree to that, but you'd be crazy not to take that deal.

And I'd do that in a heartbeat. How about you?

I think I would......but I think that's incredibly stupid to do to give up that many picks....at the same time though.....if we are a good as we should be.....those first rounders will look more like 2nd rounders. So yeah....I'd do it.

That would definitely be Romo friendly but it's still difficult for me to swallow Jerry is willing to walk away from Romo without any compensation plus Romo would then have to resign for much less to another team for an opportunity to play .

Like you I'd prefer then hanging on to Romo because I'm not completely sold Dak may not still have some problems. And then the more likelyhood of a trade if a team is desperate.

I think reality is no one wants to sign Romo for his current contract. I think if his contract were more friendly people would be willing to trade for him even knowing the risk.

You're giving a lot of praise to Romo who's had what? One first round bye? And he goes to a inferior team and now it's suppose to be a blood bath? Commanders with Romo would follow in the same 8-8 to 9-7 territory we were always in especially if they don't increase talent.

I can't believe they're willing to trade cousins. He's young and thought he was their future but if we can get a first for tony so be it

They see the ceiling with Cousins. He's not bad but he will never lead you to anything. They only made the playoffs in 2015 because Romo was out and the rest of the teams were terrible. They beat zero winning teams that season. And this season, Cousins never won a big game. I remember them failing on MNF to a very bad Carolina team at home. Then losing that Giants game when they had nothing at all to play for. They are hesitant to lock him up for the future and for good reason. He's great inside the 20s but never delivers when it matters.

I would be all over a 1st for Romo, no matter if its the Skins or not.

I posted earlier that I think the grand slam on Prescott allows you to have some flexibility with your #1 picks. If you could somehow leverage that into filling your biggest need on a good bet player regarded as the top player in this draft, I think you have to look into it.

The league talks about the key positions on a team being QB, LT, CB, and pass rusher. This team could have three of those four filled by very young players, along with arguably the league's best running back and the best offensive line in the game. That's a lot of boxes for success checked off.

If rumors about Mike Glennon and Jimmy Garropolo are true, Romo's contract shouldn't be an issue. $14 million for your starting QB is low.

Is this a serious question?

I've already stated that the #17 and our #28 pick wouldn't be enough to get the #1 pick anyway.

He's already been tagged, so they would have to trade him. No, I would never trade Romo to the Foreskins, Stealers, or Shegals.
