He verbatim said it lol…..No, there is no “we” in this. No one limited Romo’s elusiveness to when he was just 34. Only you.
"Elusive" doesn't necessarily mean "fast". It just means he had a knack for escaping pressure, i.e. making J.J. Watt grab air, then throwing a TD.We aren’t talking about the other years. We are talking about him when he was 34. At 28 or 29 he for sure was elusive…well I don’t know if I’d call it elusive. Vick and Randall Cunningham were elusive. I don’t know if I’d call Romo elusive. He had great pocket awareness though.
Are you seriously trying to imply that Romo didn't earn a legitimate reputation for being elusive?Elusive? Didn’t he get hurt in a preseason game trying to be elusive which essentially ended his career?
He was. I’ll give Romo his due he sensed pressure incredibly well.Romo's ability to sense pressure when he had no way of actually seeing it was almost spooky good...hence the Jedi title. He also seemed to mind-trick defenders at time with his escapes. He was never fast in doing it.
When he was 34? He was considered elusive? I disagree. Are you seriously trying to imply that Romo didn't earn a legitimate reputation for being elusive?
And we're the "haters". lol
you'll get no argument from me. But again, Romo was jar-jar...even when things did go his way it was a toss-up accident...and he was responsible for putting Dak in place much like Jar-Jar called for giving emergency powers to the Chancellor.Dak is C-3PO: An immobile, whiny robot who blames everyone but himself, when things go wrong.
Problem is he would often jedi-mind-trick himself into INTs...Romo's ability to sense pressure when he had no way of actually seeing it was almost spooky good...hence the Jedi title. He also seemed to mind-trick defenders at time with his escapes. He was never fast in doing it.
Responsible because he got hurt? Or is there something I don't know about?you'll get no argument from me. But again, Romo was jar-jar...even when things did go his way it was a toss-up accident...and he was responsible for putting Dak in place much like Jar-Jar called for giving emergency powers to the Chancellor.
I don’t know. I don’t credit it to being fast but at the same time everyone think is elusive is fast. Cunningham and Lamar were elusive. Vick was elusive. Romo would make you miss….is that really elusive? I’m on the fence."Elusive" doesn't necessarily mean "fast". It just means he had a knack for escaping pressure, i.e. making J.J. Watt grab air, then throwing a TD.
That part.Problem is he would often jedi-mind-trick himself into INTs...
True, he threw interceptions at bad times, but IMO, a lot of that was because he needed to force something to happen.Problem is he would often jedi-mind-trick himself into INTs...
Early on, maybe. A lot of those interceptions were flukes though... like bouncing off the receivers shoe into the hands of the defender. Yeah, a lot of his interceptions was him trying to make things happen when he shouldn't, trying to salvage something out of a bad situation. Unfortunately, Dak has that same flaw.Problem is he would often jedi-mind-trick himself into INTs...
That’s an interesting take. Unless you’re talking about Dak at 31….but the whiny robot who blames everyone else no one ever shows examples of this lol. Hes accused of being a company guy but in the same breath people will say he’s whiny and blames everyone….Dak is C-3PO: An immobile, whiny robot who blames everyone but himself, when things go wrong.
That’s the thing though. He never needed to do it. He just did it. Now in a game that’s 50-60 he clearly needed to do it. But those type of games were few and far between.True, he threw interceptions at bad times, but IMO, a lot of that was because he needed to force something to happen.
He was, by definition of the word, elusive. What some people choose for it to mean isn't what it actually means. All it means (as an adjective) is "difficult to find, catch, or achieve." That COULD be from being fast, but there are so many other things that could cause it too.I don’t know. I don’t credit it to being fast but at the same time everyone think is elusive is fast. Cunningham and Lamar were elusive. Vick was elusive. Romo would make you miss….is that really elusive? I’m on the fence.
I wouldn't consider Emmitt as elusive, because he mostly bullied his way through. Barry Sanders was elusive, because he could stop and changed directions like nobody else.I don’t know. I don’t credit it to being fast but at the same time everyone think is elusive is fast. Cunningham and Lamar were elusive. Vick was elusive. Romo would make you miss….is that really elusive? I’m on the fence.
That’s why I say im on the fence. In the sense of the definition he was difficult to take down at times. Especially earlier in his career. He was, by definition of the word, elusive. What some people choose for it to mean isn't what it actually means. All it means (as an adjective) is "difficult to find, catch, or achieve." That COULD be from being fast, but there are so many other things that could cause it too.
Yeah, I just threw that out there to respond to hyperbole with hyperbole. I thought about adding a parenthetical disclaimer that I don't really believe it, but decided that would ruin the effect. That’s an interesting take. Unless you’re talking about Dak at 31….but the whiny robot who blames everyone else no one ever shows examples of this lol. Hes accused of being a company guy but in the same breath people will say he’s whiny and blames everyone….
