Actually he's been playing well in training camp and he played well last year in preseason and in training camp. How can you possibly ever become an NFL quarterback by your standards (i.e., until you've proven yourself in regular season play)?DrewHensonSoonerNotLater said:And I guess all it takes is one great preseason performance for some fans to anoint you Football Jesus.

Bigdog24 said:The battle is for obviously the number 2 QB posittion. Do the Cowboys need to go get a veteran or do they have one capable of playing and winning a couple games..... Bledsoe hands down is the starter
The question is who is Blesoe's backup?...make no bones about it. The Tuna is playing for the superbowl, with or without Bledsoe..
Since pre-season doesn't matter maybe we should cut him.PJCOWBOYS said:Hey that Junior Gumph guy had what 2 sacks tonight. I guess he should be starting also.

I love the argument that pre-season doesn't matter. Should we just go off hunches for non-veteran players? Perhaps 11-on-11 drills without pads is a better judge of talent.PJCOWBOYS said:I think he should be voted to the pro bowl since Romo is gonna be starting. Hey since that backup kicker bounced in a field goal too, he should be starting.

Bigdog24 said:Are you saying Romo is going to start inplace of Bledsoe...............................................I hope yopu have been drinking to much..........Romo did a good job but he has never seen the NFL:'s
A - team
maybe your right let send ROMO to Canton now to save time.....
TruBlueCowboy said:I have not taken a single side through Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Clint Steorner, Drew Henson and company. I completely ignored all those 200+ reply threads about our next QB.... until now. Tony Romo is the first backup whom I've felt compelled to backup. They've all had the physical skills, something about Romo though, he just has "it." He has those instincts you can't teach. Seen this since his rookie year. I'm not calling for Bledsoe's job, but I really think Romo is as close as we've come to a homegrown legit starter since Aikman.
What on earth are you supposed to judge talent by? If you completely discredit preseason and training camp, what could you possibly judge talent by? I'd love to see you tell a coach that he has to evaluate his team and pick his starters without training camp or preseason.DrewHensonSoonerNotLater said:Romo is hands down THE #2 QB on this team. But that's not saying much. Im still scared to death of what would happen should Bledsoe go down. One great half of preseason football *yeah i know he played the whole game, but honestly against 3rd teamers the second half was just eh* does not a good QB make. Hell, does not an effective backup make, even.
Some of you are just SO desperate for the next Troy Aikman you'll jump on any performance as proof positive of the next great Cowboy QB. People did it with QC, they did it with Hutch, people did it with Henson and they are doing it with Romo.
Wake me when we actually use a draft pick on a QB.
