People want time frames for their injuries. And then they want those time frames to be accurate.

But, yeah, I think most of us if we stopped to think about it understand that there's a lot of variance that comes into play.

The same thing applies to how many weeks he actually has to sit out. If he's out 3 weeks, he's not going to need much time to get back in the lineup, obviously. If he's out 8, it's a different story.

Going solely off of Tony's history of playing through things if they'll let him and the fact that they didn't IR him, I'm guessing (yes, guessing) that he's not going to be out from this as long as the random HCPs unfamiliar with the case who talked to ESPN/NFLN suggested he might.
Not to mention, everybody of substance in the NFL plays hurt. As soon as you can go, you go.

He's played hurt a lot. Punctured lung, transverse fracture, broken throwing hand....he's Farve without the sturdy body.
Right, but until last season he never came back too soon and reinjured himself. I guess I just don't get why this keeps being said when it only happened once.

Especially when that one time was in a desperate attempt to save the season and the only risk was him breaking the bone again (which heals) and the season being lost as it would without him anyway.

Every other instance, he played when they felt there wasn't any further risk of making the injury worse.
