a little FYI for the Rodgers MVP lovers:
NFL leaders:
yards - Brees 4,952 (Rodgers 8th) Romo 14th
td's - Luck 40 (Rodgers 3rd) Romo 4th
int's - Rodgers 5 ..... Romo 5th
rating - Romo 113.2 (Rodgers 2nd)
percentage - Romo 69.9 (Rodgers 9th)

It probably came down to the wire between Romo and Rodgers and my guess is Romo's fine (but not outstanding) game against the Commanders vs Rodgers 3 TDs and him limping around and playing very well (not outstanding) probably cinched it.

Sucks but the reality is Romo needed to have an amazing game and/or Rodgers a bad game for Romo to have a chance.

IMHO there is an argument that JJ Watt who is the only the 2nd player ever with 20+ sacks deserves it but i don't think he will get it.

Romo also became just the 16th player with 8+ seasons in the top 10 in pass rating (adjusted for league size).

Manning, Montana, Tarkenton, Marino, Brady, Unitas, Farve, Baugh, Tittle, Dawson, Anderson, Fouts, Young, Roethlisberger, Brees, Romo.

Romo also became only the 5th player with 8+ consecutive top 10 seasons.

Manning, Brady, Fouts, Young, Romo.

While the MVP vote is a matter of opinion, the passing title is based strictly on performance.

Romo 113.2
Rodgers 112.2

It's the fifth time a Cowboy has led the league in passer rating.

Awesome. Just add another amazing stat/record/accomplishment to his resume. He's simply incredible. Romo's one of the best QBs I've ever seen and I've been watching football since the late 70s. He just needs a ring to cap off an amazing career. He put those numbers up while injured almost all year too. To do what he did this season with a surgically repaired back, torn rib cartilage, and fractured transverse processes, is one of the most amazing feats in football history if you ask me. I have most of the Romo haters on "ignore" so I don't know what they've been saying, but I wonder if they're even happy about our success this season since Romo has been such a huge part of it. I love it. Romo should be the NFL's MVP. Period.

Likely true however that doesn't diminish the incredible season Romo has had as well as the indisputable fact that Romo was the #1 passer in the league this season.

<IF> Romo does get HoF consideration someday and IF the case for his entry in up in the air, winning the passing title this season will be a big PLUS in the 'Yes he is worthy' column.

Staubach...wow.
This is why QB ratings have to be judged from year to year within the players of that season only.
I haven't looked it up, but my guess is that Romo has a WAY higher passer rating over his career than Rodger. Different eras.
Rodger stands alone, relative to his NFL peer group, as the best Cowboy QB.

If Berman doesn't say it, it did not happen.

;)

Unfortunately that's how today's media works. Also local Southeast Fla paper had final league standings, and believe it or not didn't have Cowboys listed at all in NFC East section, instead had Eagles at 10-6 as Division leaders......
