Too many stunts on defense opened huge holes for the Giants. All in all, a one point loss is not that bad a showing. Especially for a rookies first start. No real mistakes or turnovers. He was impressive.

I agree 100%. Romo finishes the drives. In fairness, he probably has a better idea of what NFL open is for a guy like Dez and gets him more involved. Also Romo does a better job of running 2 minute drill

Morris needs to play more. He took better advantage of his runs

I completely agree! This not an indictment on Dak, he played really well given the circumstances, but we saw what Romo did to the Giants in the same situation last season.

I'm excited to watch the rest of Dak's starts, but I'll be even more excited when Romo returns. Love what Dak has shown thus far, but Romo still gives us the best chance to win.

The way the fans and local media have talked about him and basically thrown him out with the garbage is pretty sad. Says a lot about who and what cowboys fans are to be honest.

I hope there is a season to come back to when he is ready and I think that will be cincy. Hopefully we can beat sf.

I'll just say this to all of the Romo bashers here.

You better hope he can come back and stay healthy if you have any aspirations for this team to compete this year. Because if he doesn't, it's going to be a long long season, just like last year.

Dak has alot to learn but could be capable and there were some things to like about his game today.

Romo probably does. He's a great QB. But Dak played well today. I got no beef with his performance, and I'm actually relieved to have seen it, because I think we've got our next QB on the roster already.

I've said along; I'm very excited about Dak, but it's way in the best interest of the Cowboys this year and Dak longer term if Romo comes back healthy and leads the team...this year.

This offense will be, with Romo, at least as good as the 2014 group.

Agree on Romo, I do think some of those field goal drives would translate to a few more points. Dak managed the game and took what the defense gave him, not forcing many throws. Great that a rookie was focused on protecting the ball, but adjustments will need to be made. The pass rush did impact him so, I would expect some defenses to throw more complex blitz packages at him in the coming weeks. We need to put in more hb screens to help him. I habe no idea why this wasnt a bigger part of the gameplan to begin with to get Elliott into space.

That's the thing. I just hope he's able to be the guy he once was. Romo has broken a back bone and twice broken his collarbone in something like his last 80 pass attempts. He's not going to win many games at that kind of pace.

As to the bigger point, yes, I agree that regular Romo wins this. I thought the game was lost when our offense twice took over possession with a chance to go up by two scores, but we weren't able to punch one in.
