Romo probably does. He's a great QB. But Dak played well today. I got no beef with his performance, and I'm actually relieved to have seen it, because I think we've got our next QB on the roster already.

Thank you!! Were people actually expecting a rookie to light it up? He played really well. And as. Romo fan I'd like the remind people he didn't play great to start last season and the Giants probably prepare differently. We are in this situation, QB played well enough to win, we have to find s way to do it

We relied on rookies and a bunch of defensive players that wouldn't crack any of the other 31 NFL lineups.

Cowboys lost this game because as well as the rook played, he couldn't finish. Romo finishes those drives.

THey also used Zeke too much. His lack of time playing with the first unit Oline showed. He was impatient. He didn't set up his blocks or wait for things to develop. Inside the 20 they should have went with Alfred a lot more.

Too many stunts on defense opened huge holes for the Giants. All in all, a one point loss is not that bad a showing. Especially for a rookies first start. No real mistakes or turnovers. He was impressive.
Romo would have been laying on the ground by the end of the first quarter with JPPs foot in his chest

Romo played very well to start last season. His numbers didn't look as good because of a tip by Witten that got picked and another pass where Street coughed up the ball and they called it an interception. And even with those two statistical anomalies he still ended up with a 103 rating. I just re-watched that game this week and Romo was sharp.

While I think your points are valid, don't you think Dak was let down a bit by the wideouts today in terms of "finishing drives"??? Cole played great but that slant inside the 5 should have been a walkin TD - it was not that high and he wasn't even fully extended to make the catch. Similarly, Dez is paid to catch that ball and hold on thru the process - that's what top paid WRs do routinely. If he is one of the best in the game as I believe he has been and can be, he needs to come thru clutch in that situation. 8 points left on the field right there where I'd have to say it wasn't on Dak.

But I agree that Romo would have helped immensely today if healthy...particularly with quicker decision making. Dak will improve that over time as he gets used to the speed at this level.

I'm tired of the Romo arguments. The reason Dak is playing 3 years before he needs to is because of Romo's inability to stay on the field. Drumming up hypotheticals that can not be substantiated are pointless. No one knows what Romo would or would not have did.

Dak played well enough to win but his WRs and coaching staff failed him and that's now a trend.

I think people are tired of people on this board saying he's done and anointing a rookie after a couple preseason games. Don't get me wrong, I think all of us are happy with Daks performance, but this place has been ridiculous over the past couple of weeks.

I just keep growing my ignore list, and I know people who have just been staying off the board for the last 2 weeks. It's been almost unbearable.

He is done. He's 36 and has not played a full season since 2012. Move on.

I didn't feel like the coaching hurt us today.. I also didn't feel like it helped.

I'm watching New England get guys wide bleeping open right now through scheme with Jimmy Garropolo.. When will it be our turn?

I enjoyed all the misdirection and bootlegs but not 1 big play from the offense today.
I'm seeing the same thing, Belichek is out coaching Arians, Pats just have away of attacking the opponents weakness, you can clearly see this in almost every Pats game....the other team is always trying to adjust to what the Pats do.

In our case its like we are going to run the same plays and hope to beat you to the punch. no creativity, no suprise plays, no nothing.

If our WR's could fricken catch, we wouldn't have needed Romo to "finish". Dak will improve, but lets not act like he didn't play well enough to win this game.....

Yes, we win with Romo. But we didn't have Romo. Somehow we have to find other ways to win. Not just ways to lose closely.

13 tries and they still can't figure it out. I have zero faith that they will.

But as they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile, so I'm sure they will win one here or there.

And Weeden played well enough to win games last year.

It's amazing how many guys we have who 'play well enough to win' without actually winning.

Sorry, but when there are 'drops' from a bunch of different guys I'm looking at the guy throwing the ball. It's amazing that Romo can come close to 70% completions with the same scrub receivers. Just think how high his percentages would be if they could catch.

A pro bowl QB clearly gives you a better opportunity than a rook 4 rounder. What's the point...

I completely agree! This not an indictment on Dak, he played really well given the circumstances, but we saw what Romo did to the Giants in the same situation last season.

I'm excited to watch the rest of Dak's starts, but I'll be even more excited when Romo returns. Love what Dak has shown thus far, but Romo still gives us the best chance to win.

Dak needs the coaches to win these games. Putting the ball in the air with a 6 point lead on their own 20 with 10 minutes to play was terrible. Too many bad things can happen and one of them happened...a holding penalty. 1st and 20 deep in his own territory. Dak cannot pick that up yet. The coaches lost this game at that moment. Belichick wins that game for his rookie qb. Pisses me off.

I'm guessing the point is that we have probably 50 posters on here who have been jamming Dak down everyone's throats for the better part of 2 or 3 weeks. And those mopes need to be reminded that throwing out our pro bowl QB like last week's moldy meatloaf is not cool. And that they suck. And that they're morons.

That's probably the point, but I'm just guessing.
