I think you're correct that his arm is fine, but the poor throws are more balance and footwork issues, IMO.

I don't disagree. His balance and footwork issues are more than likely a product of a weak / painful leg from his back injury. That is the whole point of this thread.

You are 100% correct on the cyst removal. Unless the cyst was between the disc near the nerves it is not near the same as a laminectomy.

.

I have had 7 back surgeries to include a cyst removal. The cyst I had removed is known as a synovial cyst and it can be much worse than any herniation. I'm assuming Tony had something similar due to all the attention the surgery garnered. If it had been a run of the mill cyst it wouldn't have kept him away from football at all.

A synovial cyst in the back would have to be between the facets and into the canal to cause trouble. I won't say there couldn't have been a synovial cyst in the lumbar area but I seriously doubt it at his age. They are rare before 35-40 and uncommon in the elderly.

IMO.. Romo threw the ball better(velocity) in the second half against the Titans. We need to rely heavily on our run game and hopefully Romo loosens up as the season wears on.

The guy is in a decline

Or some could say he is just now getting recovered and working his way back into playing condition. Time answers all questions and so far we haven't seen enough to know exactly where we are at with Tony.

Romo's overall conditioning has suffered as a result of his back problems and the long, seemingly endless rest period it necessitated. It'll likely take at least half of the season and possibly more for him to return to proper conditioning. In the meantime, this offense will be forced to lean heavily on the running game to make up for whatever Romo is lacking his normal overall skills as a result of that long layoff and rehabbing period. Looks like we'll be forced to remain patient 'til he either gets his mojo back or simply falters. Let's hope it's the former, not the latter. Murray will just have to pick up the slack in the meantime.

I think we sit Romo if/when we go up by two scores. His game won't improve until he gets more rest.

this seems plausible but his footwork is terrible on some throws even when there is zero pressure.

His footwork has never been the best. I have said that since day one.
