Romo's Endzone INTs

I love the way Romo plays but lately his endzone interceptions have me worried. He has thrown 4 endzone interceptions in his last four meaningful games (not to mention the one he threw against Houston in his final preseason game).

I know Tony says he learns quickly from his mistakes, but this problem seems to remain. I'm afraid if he doesn't correct this it will come back to bite us in a big divisional game or in the playoffs.

The last INT wasn't exactly his fault. Felix's rookie mistake pretty much evoked that INT by becoming roadkill.

Aikman used to do the same thing, it's a common problem.

It is very difficult to complete a pass in the endzone when you are inside the 10 because the defense has a much shorter field to cover and the receivers don't have much room to get open.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it regarding Romo.

No it was his fault. He was trying to force it when he should have scrambled, looked at other options or just thrown it away....Jone's did not force the INT, thats ridiculous.

its just an area that he needs to work on...

As an Offense gets closer to the endzone the amount of field the Defense has to cover gets smaller and this draws defenders in tighter. That increases the chances of an INT.

If Felix would have held the block for a split second, the pass would have gotten off without obstruction. It didn't because Felix was roadkill. In a team game, you have to be able to depend on your teammates to do their job. Felix failed. TO was open for the TD, but the disruption to the pass cause it to not be on target and to not have enough zip on it.

I think it's a little Ironic, that ROMO got the starting job becaues of a horrific RED ZONE int. by Dredsoe.

We did rank pretty poorly last year in terms of Red Zone passing (18th according to FO.com). It's something to improve on.

He has always seemed, since he took over, to make one bad throw a game. It just seems to be something he does. I am willing to live with it though because he makes the right throws a whole heck of a lot more than he throws the bad ones.

I find it ironic that an undrafted QB made the pro bowl in his first year starting while only playing 10 of 16 games.

Romo forced it, end of story.

Its not that big of deal, but trying to place the blame on Jones is ridiculous.

Felix didn't really make a mistake. Mcginnis rowed right over him.

I'm not going to respond to the other guy. It's like talking to a wall.

Felix did make a mistake which is why he got mowed down. Proper technique would have prevented it. Which is why they teach you proper technique!

Felix failed in his job. If he hadn't failed, the play had a chance of success.

If I would have done that in high school, rest assured, the coach would have said it was my mistake. trust me.

Sometimes you just flat out get beat, which Felix did. I don't know if Romo had time to mentally process what was coming at him at that point, so he may not have had time to think he should just throw it away. That said, yes Romo needs to protect the ball better in the red zone. That int against Houston in the pre-season was all on him and brought back memories of QC. The difference of course is that Romo seems to do it at the most once a game, while QC was good for at least 4 or 5 of those type plays (not necessarily ints) a game.

I am with you on this one. You just really have no way of knowing how Felix being blown up effected Romo's throw. When a QB thinks the defensive player is going to be picked up and starts his motion and then all of the sudden the defender is in your face you can't step into it and your concentration is blown, a bad play is the result.

TO was open, if Felix makes a good block I really think Romo throws a strike!

Romo is not without flaw of course but that is a tough one to put all on Romo IMO.
