Romo's Int

Romo is a gunslinger ..... this will happen from time to time.
True, but when was the last time you saw us in 3 and 15 and was confident we were about to pick up the first down?

If you had to point to any weakness in Romo's game, it's gotta be the deep ball at this point...In particular, those touch passes down the sidelines (As someone else mentioned).

I brought this play up in a different thread but still haven't gotten any confirmed evidence on what happened...The whole play looked odd to me...But not necessarily the throw (Which did float a little) but the routes that were run...Two WRs (Crayton & T.O.?) running nearly the identical route?...Seemed like someone ran the wrong route as the two of them easily drew the Safety over to cover and zero in on the INT, quite easily.

And the other odd thing about the play was how the WRs didn't even appear to look for the ball...It's almost as if that route was run as a decoy (Still, one of the WRs ran the route incorrectly) when in fact it was designed to be thrown to one of them...Didn't see them look up at all much less make an effort for the ball.

And you could see Tony was upset but almost as if it weren't himself he was upset with, i.e. wrong route ran by one of them.

Strange play, though...Wonder why it never was addressed by the reporters or in the pressy

I thought Romo's second pass to crayton, a sideline touch pass, was pretty durn accurate.

I don't consider his deep ball a weekness. It isn't a strength a la Drew Bledsoe, he just doesn't have that arm, but his accuracy bails him out.

It did seem that some of his passes were extra week yesterday - there was one to witten for a first down that kind of floated and could have been picked.

But that isn't a complaint - he is so effective everywhere else.

I thought it was a Quincy Carter punt.
Oh, God, I didn't see this post before!!! Priceless:lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao:

I had forgot all about that reasoning for QC's greatness. Some of those guys were really advocates of "punting" on 1st and 2nd downs!

Please don't equate a critique of Romo's game with dissatisfaction, just an observation.

Plus, I was referring to deep balls...That pass to Crayton wasn't more than a 20-25 yard pass really.

The INT play was odd but not from Romo's end, IMHO...It was odd from the point of view of the WRs, for me...Someone must've ran the wrong route...Even odder, neither one of them looked like they were aware the ball was even coming

Those passes to Owens down the left sideline are ALWAYS ugly. I recall some analyst saying that Owens gets too close to the sideline and doesn't leave himself any wiggle room, but it sure looks like those passes are uncatchable,,,

I thought it was obvious that the wR on the inside ran the wrong route. I am betting he was supposed to do a post to hold the safety in the middle of the field leaving one on one on the outside. It was not a bad decision to throw that ball.. it was a bad throw and would not have been completed regardless.. but i doubt it would have been intercepted if the WR would have ran the right route.

That was my thinking as well...The inside guy looked to be T.O. and the guy I figured was probably running the wrong route.

Still, I'd have to see the replays again but it really didn't even look like either WR was expecting the ball to come as they didn't even make a play for it or even look for the ball...Strange

Honestly IMO, I think those fades down the sidelines, I think Romo is throwing the ball away - because there is always a safety coming on top of that fade

After reviewing the game again, the ball was tipped at the line. Not that anyone cares, just wanted to share!

Maybe I am imagining this, but I said to my wife after the throw, "Watch, he will be lights out for the rest of the game." For some reason, I think Tony plays much better after interceptions that are his fault. He seems to get more focused. Anyone else notice this?

I do, but I also think he gets progressively better as he gets accustomed to the game speed. His 2nd half numbers are sick for his career.

Crayton or TO ran the wrong route. No way Tony threw that kindof pass on purpose.

Not only that, but they were running parrallel to each other down the same sideline - no way was that correct and you could tell by the way Romo responded to it that he was pissed at someone for doing something wrong. I was pissed that they never showed it on the replay.

I agree bad rout by someone and bad pass by Romo. You throw that pass away once you see that the WR have blown the rout. I'm not going to come down on Romo or the WR because these things have not been happening often and every team out there will have plays like this and every QB will throw a ball they wished they had not thrown.
