i thought he looked very uncomfortable in the pocket tonight, but he was still able to make good throws.

Romo was 11/18 for 122 yards. If he could maintain such "inconsistent" production over the course of a season, he would have 3,904 passing yards with a 61.1 completion percentage.

Who wouldn't take that?

And if he maintained that pace, he would also throw for 0 TDs and 16 INTs.

What grade would you give it. He had several nice passes and some drops that made his numbers look bad. I noticed that some of his passes looked like wounded ducks and floated. I don't know what happened on the INT but some of his other passes I was not impressed with. C+

Bill is that you?.....How is retirement:D

Actually, he would throw 32 INTs.

I had multiplied his totals by 32 halves rather than 16 games because Romo only played a half.;)

But my underlying point was this: Inconsistent isn't a description normally applied to quarterbacks who pass for 3,900 yards at a 61.1 percent clip. Romo's lone interception wasn't a poor read or throw but rather a poor route by the receiver. It certainly wasn't indicative of any flaws within either his mechanics or understanding of the game.

And even with that INT rate, we're still probably going 20-0 for the season because we're projecting to 48 points per game based on our first team offense tonight. :)

I thought Tony's performance was okay; it was not his best performance but acceptable for this time of year and this situation. For the most part he didn't have his best weapons. Owens was not in the game for long, neither was Witten and T Glenn or course was not in at all. He made some good plays and didn't really make any bad throws. The INT was just a timing route gone wrong and that is going to happen from time to time.

Romo said in the post game interview on the ticket, that he threw some balls away because the broncos Corners were jumping routes. maybe thats when he threw the wobblers

Wow! If that was a bad outing, I will take that every week.

The Broncos are a pretty solid defensive team. They've got two very good corners, and Dallas played with their second string receivers. The Denver LBs are some of the fastest in the league too.

I thought Romo and the first offense looked pretty impressive, and it would have been even better without the mistakes others have already pointed out.

:laugh2:

And who cares about turnovers when the Cowboys defense can keep opponents out of the endzone regardless of their starting field position?

Our cup of optimism overfloweth during this preseason.

I'd give him a B-. He wasn't super sharp but he also ran with the second crew of WRs a lot more.

Denver has a very good secondary, it's probably the strength of that team.

Spirals are a good indication of a QB. See Eli Manning and Quincy Carter for that.

Then Peyton Manning is the worse qb ever I seen that guy throw more ducks than you could shoot in a barrel

Wow-Cowboys fans are starting to act like Eagles fans.

That underneath pass to Crayton? Beautiful

That 12 yard pass to TO? Pretty

That 13 yard pass to Hurd? Beautiful-but you forgot to mention Hurd fumbled it

That 40 yard lob to Hurd(or was it Austin)? Amazing-but you forgot to mention he dropped it

And you also forgot to mention Austin mis-ran his route that lead to an INT

It would make the game so much more fun if more fans could see their glass half full instead of half empty. We are blessed to have Romo what if we had Vick ?

He looked ok. A little uncomfortable in the pocket for some reason, and you could tell he knows that those DBs are good - he didn't want to sling too much.

The thing with Romo - I get the feeling that he sometimes starts game wobbly but will get better as it goes on.

he said he had to throw the ball away a couple times because the corners were jumping routes. It rather him be cautious against aggresive corners, then too aggresive.

How does he look if Miles Austin catches a pass that was tossed 40 yards downfield, right beyond the outstretched fingers of a diving defender right into the WR's hands? How does he look if Miles Austin runs the route sharply and catches the ball for a first down instead of letting Dre Bly beat him to the spot for an INT? How does he look if Sam Hurd holds on to the football instead of fumbling, and they continue to drive down the field? How does he look if Jason Witten holds onto a ball that hit him right in the bread basket? How does he look if he has TO and Terry Glenn going up against Champ Bailey and Dre Bly for an entire half instead of Sam Hurd and Miles Austin?

Its a little hard to be too critical of him.

Jeff George and Todd Marijuanavich threw some pretty nice looking passes. Vick, too. Peyton Manning isn't known for consistently tight spirals.
