They were not flukes. He threw a medicine ball to Miles and it ended up intercepted. He throws that ball a bit lower and Miles probably makes the play. He threw a ball behind and high to Witten. Witten is not going to make that catch. Those are not flukes. As I said earlier, Romo threw two balls last week that probably should have been INTs as well. You can just as easily say that it was a fluke that those were not caught.
The point I'm trying to make is that, as I watch Romo, it seems to me that he is trying to make every play. He is not taking what the defense is giving him. I saw several plays that Romo could have checked down or gone to other WRs that were open. Maybe he's just not seeing this but I kinda doubt it. It feels like he's pressing. The team and JG are leaning on Romo a lot. When you look at Romo as the win or lose solution, then your not taking advantage of the rest of the team. One guy can not win. A team is what wins. By focusing on Romo, your just making it easier for other teams to defense you.
I want this team to be more balanced on offense. I want other guys to get involved in the offense. I want to play smart football and use our defense as opposed to butting them in bad positions and expecting them to always come through.
No team, ever, has won a championship by relying on the passing game as heavily as we are. It's never happened. My goal is not to make the playoffs or even win the division. My goal is to win a championship. I understand that this is only the second game but this business of throwing 50 times a contest has to stop. We have to bring balance to the offense or we will not win.
