Alright.. Normally when I post stuff like this, the shills come out of the woodworks to counter. Here goes anyways.. I rrrrreeallllyyy like this guy. In his limited opportunities with the first team, he has flashed those shades of brilliance. When the rat drafted him last year, I said "why?". I'm sure a number of others did the same. Heck.. They had just drafted RG3 #2 overall! Little did I know that the rat was actually applying some cerebral power to the decision making process.

Here's the kicker.. The DC area is so wrapped up in the side show that is RG3 right now. From the media, team cohesiveness and leadership, game performance perspectives, he is the center of attention. I think the rat made a wrong decision at the beginning of the year letting him come back so quickly from the injury. I would have told RG3 and his delicate personality to sit in the corner for about six weeks and started Kirk without blinking. DC wasn't having any part of that though.. Now it's starting to backfire on them.
This guy would be the perfect successor to Romo. Yes. I know it's taboo to talk about Romo's replacement but I prefer to be somewhat prepared for the future so I think about these things. Cousins reminds me of a young Tom Brady. The comparisons stop there. Note I said a "young Tom Brady" as in the earlier years before he became who he is today. Back then there were flashes that Tom exhibited and I see the same in Kirk. It would be an amazing coup in my opinion if we could somehow pilfer this guy from the Skins via trade. Chop it up.
He'll be a free agent in 2016. The Cowboys can't afford to cut Romo before that anyway. It would be great if the Skins don't trade him and just let him hit free agency.

They keep Cousins because RG3&out is too brittle. Will he turn out like VY or Newton?

Can we win a Superbowl first within the next 3 years before we talk about Romos replacement? Its like like going out with your girlfriend when your 18 and guessing who your wife is going to be when your 25.

How many games has this guy played and what has he shown???

No to that. Yes to Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota or Johnny Football or one of the top QBs in one or two years.

There are no guarantees that any of those guys would translate to the NFL. Although, I would easily take a flyer on Johnny Football. Cousins has been brilliant in spot duty. He is a true franchise QB hidden behind a wannabe franchise QB right now. No doubt in my mind about that one.

I think this year's draft will have some decent QBs available in the 3rd round. Get a guy and develop him. If he doesn't work out, it's not like you wasted a 1st.

I do think Cousins is the better QB but I bet Washingtin sticks with Griffen. Hard to pay multiple 1s for a guy just to send him to the bench

I find it hard to believe Kirk Cousins is accurate enough to be a starting qb in this league. I watched him at Mich St quite a bit. He's a good backup. He might look good in limited action, but so did Matt Cassel and Matt Flynn. Starting a whole season is a different thing all together. I'm very skeptical.

Middle of trying to get into the playoffs and we're talking about Kirk Cousins lol. I guess.......he won't be the first or last guy to look good as a backup and in limited action. I need to see a few games of 4 quarters before I hand my keys over to him. IF you're going to take a shot on Cousins why not draft a guy in the 4th or 5th round?

Why are people so down on Griffin but Luck gets a pass? His stats are barely better than Griffin's. His team got blown out 35-zip at home. He completed only 55 percent last year and only 58 or so this year.

Personally, I don't think either player deserve judgment in their second year. Look at Roger's second year stats.

Cousins is a big meh to me.

Weve gone from wanting to put our back up in... to wanting to put the Commanders back up in. Thats change you can(t) believe in!

Romo isn't playing until he's 40, guys, sorry. His replacement is probably starting for some college program right now. He's not in high school.

Romo is playing here as long as he wants regardless of skill due to his contract, we're stuck with him good or bad for a very long time

It's a nice thought in dreaming Cousins might become a C'Boys starter one day but I'm afraid that's all it is. The Commanders aren't about to let him go knowing full well that RG-3 may at some point either fail or get injured to the point of no return. We'll more than likely draft a kid worthy of taking over for Romo in a year or two. In the meantime, we're likely very fortunate to have a QB that seems on the verge of taking the next step up.

a rapist and a douchebag on that list...no to either of them based on character alone, but I don't see the mobile QB thing being a huge trend much longer....I don't see either of their games translating to the NFL in a big way

...and RG3and8 was always a risk and the Commanders did the right thing in drafting cousins...I read somewhere (can't remember where) that Shanny loved cousins in the draft and had to have him....if that is true, he will eventually get his shot...
