Something appears to have gone wrong in the data. You have Murray and Felix exerting an equal (negative) influence on Romo's YPA when Felix's YPT is markedly superior. Am I missing something?

Romo has seemed to do well with guys who are a little bit slippery (for lack of a better word) and have good instincts at getting open when the play tends to break down. I'm thinking of Crayton and L. Robinson. These guys were not the biggest or fastest (although Laurent had good speed), but Romo seemed to have a feel for where they would be particularly when the play broke down or he was scrambling. They also probably tended to not draw the top coverage. I was thinking if there are some guys on the current roster who might be able to have this kind of chemistry. Dwayne Harris comes to mind as a guy a little bit like Crayton, and Williams comes to mind as a guy who get down the field when things open up.

No, you're not missing anything. Felix had more targets, so the effect on Romo's YPA is greater.

That's why I decided to include the "effects" column, so everyone could see what goes into Romo's career rating.

Very astute observation, if I may say. With Romo, Witten, Dez, and Miles, 3rd WR (or 4th target, if you wish) can go viral in this offense.

I think the best comparison to be made here is Laurent Robinson and Kevin Ogletree. You had a night and day difference between those receivers.

You combine Bennett and Ogletree and you really see why that option becomes fairly detrimental to Romo. You bring in receivers like Escobar and Williams and you'd hope they would be at least in the 90s.

Romo shouldn't be short of weapons this year, and we should have a pretty potent offense.
