Kearse is a very good SS. Why would you want to replace him with a rookie?
I meant as his backup... lol

that is what I saw too, he reads good with quick response, and seems to like getting in on the tackle.Looks great overall and great in run support and tackling. Did get beat a few times, but the QB didnt make the perfect pass like they did with Thomas.
Can we STOP saying he was UDFA already? Round 5, pick 167
Haha you good. And your point stands. I would have been pleased with a 1st rd draft pick flashing like he did in ps game 1. He did well for himself.Oops, my bad. Still not bad for a 5th. Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse Meeee....
He got drafted in the 5th.Dude played really good for an UDFA playing in the first preseason game.
He’s athletic, fluid for his size, plays under control, and is physical. We don’t know yet but he could really be a find, based on the reports out of camp and how he looked in his first game.
‘He could actually push a drafted corner off the 53 if he keeps it up.
Yes. Being right so often is exhausting!!!The day they drafted this guy I said I hope they put him at FS. He could be our Earl Thomas at safety...Not a big hitter, but understands the game and plays with the instinct to make a difference.
Damn I hate being right all the time.
i dont think Joseph is a lock to make the 53,his disastrous offseason and lackluster play may doom him.
Looking forward to see if his good play continues in the joint practices this week and Saturday against the Chargers.Bland was thrown at 7 times, 2 completions for 2 yards. Solid game.
Me too, I like his instincts. I'm trying to not get too excited though, I thought Canady was going to pan out.Looking forward to see if his good play continues in the joint practices this week and Saturday against the Chargers.
I watched a few times myself and would be happy with that performance out of a first round DB his first time under the big lights. He played like hee wanted it, and he played sound. Read, react and blow stuff up!Having gone back and watched the game some more, Bland was even better than I thought. He was clearly the best defender out on the field with all those guys fighting for a job. It looks like he gave up two catches for about 2 yards. His tackling was good and crisp, and he was physical getting off of blocks.
He looks like a really good prospect for even the early rounds. I don’t see any way he doesn’t make the 53. Picks like him are what you hope for in the later rounds.
