I hate the steelers BUT

they have an owener who is a owner not GM scout coach ect....

They are going to the 2nd superbowl in 4 season most likly going to be the first to 6 superbowl wins.

While our owener wants to play GM and his team has not won a playoff game since the talent from the early 90's has run out....

sad

I was just goingto start a thread on this. The only time i see the rooneys is when there either holding up the conference or super bowl trophy's. They have a formula and are a model of consistency. It is sickening, but credit must be given to that family and organization.

What is Sad is, Rooneys are what, almost 3-4? Or something like that with HCs? They sure seems to know how to select coaches and let coaches coach.

they arnt called the STEAL-ers for nothing...wonder if they'll need ref help in two weeks the way they did in a acouple of their other tainted championships

Jerry Jones is the best thing and the worst thing for all Cowboys fans. He's the best because he is willing to do ANYTHING to help The Boys win. He's the worst because he thinks he's the one who knows what needs to be done to help The Boys win. I just pray he doesn't turn into a Texas version of Al Davis in about decade.

seems they select a personality type... not so much a head coach.

Noll Cowher Tomlin all very similar in personality.

do you think if Tomlin was avaliable when Parcells quit Jerry would have interviewed him? let alone hire him?

I doubt it.

since 1997

the steelers have been far far ahead of the cowboys in almost every way.

They will beat AZ for number 6.

what did it take us? 15 years to finally pass them for championships?

this time we may never catch them with thing being the way they are in Dallas these days.

IN a decade?

Uhh, Al Davis has a few more playoff victories than Jerry in the LAST decade.

It's these kind of things, along with the Cards in the Super Bowl, that make me very depressed.

But, I'll keep on keeping on.

Thats because Jerry is a short timer, win now mentality. All that does is, win never. He has yet to learn how to plan for long term and stick with the plan.

He was impressed with Garrett, but lacked the guts to hire him a HC. Then he was highly impressed with Singletary but didn't hire as HC. Went with Wade Phillips only because he thought he could get his Defense to play well. We see the result now.

As much as pains me, kudos to the Rooney family for continuing to honor their tradition and fans with a product worthy of their uniforms....it's a shame Jerry cannot bestow the same honor to the Cowboys organization and the fans that support it. We have become a second rate franchise. TRULY SAD

My problem with Jerry is that he needs to outsmart everyone.

Its not enough just to get good players, you have to be the most cleverest ever guy doing it.

Quincy Carter? "Look, I can get my franchise QB in the 2nd round, ha ha!"

Hutch? "Look I can get my franchise QB from the minor leagues, ha ha!"

Drew Henson "Look, I can get, er, another franchise QB from the minor leagues, ha ha!"

Then there are the endless reclamation projects like Pacman, Tank, TO (for better or worse), Spellman, Leaf, etc where Jerry tries to pull an inside straight on a losing hand.

Its not just Jerry being involved, its that he has to prove he is smarter somehow, that he can find bargains that no one else can. the majority of which flop miserably, because that is why they were on the bargain rack in the first place.

Doesnt hurt when Brady goes down in the season opener so the Pats around to make the Steelers their little daughters like they always do.

What exactly was the model when it took them 26 years between Super Bowl winning teams? You know 1980 to 2006?
