I am old fashioned. Don't feel people should mix all their private information with the internet. When I hear stories of employers visiting facebook/******* sites of a person and seeing pictures of themselves doing stupid things like drawing swastikas on their drunk friends forehead I don't feel sympathy for those people. Its their own fault.
A while ago ******* was hacked. Thousands of peoples private pictures were all available to download via a torrent. Twitter was hacked just a days back and something like 10 celebs phone numbers were obtained.
The internet is not as private as some people think.
Now that's a different story. But millions of people (including my wife) use FB, for instance, as a very easy and non-time consuming way to stay in touch with old friends and family. They post non-private photos of a family addition or maybe an old photo from 8th grade football. All innocent stuff. And there is never a need to post any private information about yourself on a site. Those that do, do so at their own peril. Furthermore, those sites now allow you to block anyone or everyone from seeing any of your photos or personal info unless you give them special permission to do so.
I see what you saying. Some folks (5% maybe) go overboard with the sites and use no disgression. That's not too smart on their part.
