I don't see any way we just keep four wide outs. In a normal year I would say we would keep 6 wide outs, but it is hard to see us keeping 6 this year. I think we keep 5. The analysis of Beasley playing limited snaps per game, if active, will factor into the decision to keep him. Not sure how it will play out.

WR-6 Dez, Austin, Harris, Williams, Harris, Armstrong
TE--4 Witten, Escobar, Rosairo, Hannah
OL--9 Smith, Frederick, Free, Costa, Cook, Arkin, Leary, Livings,Parnell

DE--4 Ware, Spencer, Wilbur, Selvie
DT--5 Ratlif, Hatcher, Bass, Hayden, Lissemore,
LB--6 Lee, Carter, Durant, Sims, Magee, Holloman (Although he looked horrible on a few plays the other day),
CB--6 Carr, MO, Scandrick, Moore, Webb (INT was nice and might have saved him)
S----4 Church, Allen, Wilcox, Johnson (Doesn't deserve to make even the PS, but we failed in doing anything else, wish we could pick up another smart vet who gets cut)

Yep, just like Drew Brees, Darren Sproles, Ray Rice, Steve Smith, MJD.....I could go on and on....Your covering up your bias...

Those guys are thick. They are built like athletes. (QBs aside)

Beasley is built like he belongs in the math club.

Beasley is a lock on this team and I don't know why anyone would want another aging Guard who's been out of football for 18 months, nothing is coming good from that....Bernadeau played pretty well the last four games last year and I think he's the starter this year until a high drafted guard is selected in next years draft to replace him.

Things are taking shape, and I'm pleased to say, I think this roster represents some really solid depth across the board that we haven't seen in recent years. Good players will get cut, certainly a couple that you may wish you hadn't one day. That's a good sign. . . .
CORNERBACKS - 5
Brandon Carr
Mo Claiborne
Orlando Scandrick
Sterling Moore (this guy is a player)
B.W. Webb (lot of inactive gamedays ahead for this guy)

Carr, Claiborne and Scandrick, to some degree, were locks to make the 53 coming into camp. There is an old adage that you practice how you play. Sterling Moore has been solid in camp and the pre season games thus far and deserves to be on the 53 man roster. BW Webb has been less than stellar in camp, has struggled in both pre season games to this point. You are right that should he make it onto the 53 man roster, there will be a "lot of inactive gamedays ahead for" Webb. In fact, keeping Webb on the 53 translates to a determination his "upside" is greater than each of the other cornerbacks (Underwood, Pellerin, Brewer) currently on the roster. "Upside" is probably best determined by evaluating the player's performance when given the opportunity to do so, i.e., reps in practice, snaps in the pre season games. Comparing the performances put in by Webb, Underwood, Brewer and Pellerin to the varying number of reps in practice and pre season snaps each player has been afforded, it's difficult to say at this point Webb has demonstrrated he has a greater "upside" than Underwood, Brewer and/or Pellerin. The remaining games may or may not make that answer any clearer. One thing is clear, "[g]ood players will get cut, certainly a couple that you may wish you hadn't one day." That's the NFL.

Beasley makes he team because Romo wants him. He not only gets open, but he's where Romo expects him to be when he does. Speed and size are great, but if you don't actually use those gifts to get open, they're wasted.

The thing about Beasley to consider is we may be keeping him this year in preparation for next year.

If Miles is cut or traded and TWill moves up to #2 WR then there is a hole at #3 WR. Now Beasley can come in and pick up where Miles left off.

I suspect we will play more 11 personnel then people realize right now. It was by far our most effective set last year and Romo loves to spread the field. With outside guys opening up the middle of the field Beasley should get a lot of man coverage that he can eat up.

I do think Beasley really needs to work on his return game to make himself a better asset. He also needs to work on his strength and blocking or the running game will be dead whenever he steps on the field to outside runs to his side.

It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out. My hope is still that Coale steps up and wins the #5 spot but the ACL really hurt him and he may need a year on the PS.

There's so much truth to what you just wrote, it's amazing.
This comment is ignorant.....Make the same comment about guys of a different race and it would be deleted, and you'd have a big R label attached to your name. Beasley is a player. Guys have been fired because they made remarks about African Americans playing Quarterback. They shouldn't have those comments just like you shouldn't make your comment. What, because a guy is white, and small he shouldn't make a team as a receiver? Should he only be able to play other positions and not skill positions? Your an IDIOT!! It's doesn't matter what color he is or how big he is...Regardless of what you thing about him being a "small, white guy", the coaches and his teammates love him...Romo, Witten, and Dez talk about him all time. If those three guys like him, and want him around, then it doesn't matter what any of us think...And beyond those facts, the bottom line is he makes plays...He quick, get's open, and catches the ball. Other than him being "short and white", why shouldn't he make the team???

Please. Guarantee if the archives of the old board will still available (and maybe they are, I don't have the time to search), you will find no less than 100 references of various posters positioning Beasley as "our Wes Welker". This is not some comparison that I just randomly pulled out of thin air.

Gavin Escobar (worried about this pick; won't suit out many gamedays)
You are dreaming with this remark.

Anthony Armstrong (much sturdier and faster than Beasley)
I'll almost guarentee you Beasley makes the squad.

Personally, im not sure what you're deal is with Beasley. I don't know how many references i've seen you make about his stature. Maybe you only like to look at big, hulking guys while you're watching football.. but the guy makes plays. I don't see anything that's more important than that.

I've heard you go so far as to say you're concerned about his health when he's on the field.. its funny i've never heard you say the same about DeSean Jackson, who has 2 inches on Cole and still weights 5-10 lbs less. Talk about a stick figure. I can't understand how he ever made a Pro Bowl.. this must be the girls pee wee league, right?

There is a HUGE difference to saying he should be compared to Wes Welker, and he is "Small and White".......Honestly, it's as ignorant as someone saying Mike Vick should be compared to Donovan McNabb, but not Steve Young....You can compare anyone you want to anyone else you want, but to say compare someone based on race alone is dumb!!!

Beasley is not Welker or Amendola. He is Beasley. If he makes the team it should solely be based on his own merit, not preconceived notion that he is the next Welker, or Amendola.

Beasley is on this team and I can't see a scenario where they'd cut him for a guy like Eric Frampton, George Selvie, etc.

Beasley is not only on the team, he will get snaps and be a productive player. Cole is straight cash money. Period. ;)
