rotoworld: All signs point to Owens leaving cowboys *Merge*

Romo is not like T.O. He's not going to throw a teammate under the bus. If Romo and the rest want him back so much then why is Jerry taking so long to make an announcement about him? Obviously their are discussions going on about his future in Dallas?

Jerry already made an announcement about him. Why would there be another?

You got it.

I believe what I SEE AND HEAR people say - not anonymous sources. Do you have ANY person with the organization , on record, wanting him gone?

If have trouble following that, let me know.
they won't say that cause they're professionals unlike 81. they don't have to run in front of camera's and mics everytime they have a problem. p[lus if they did he would throw a tantrum and start another problem. how's that question dodger?

What announcement is there to make? He's under contract. He's on the team. He just signed a contract last off-season. Did Jerry ever say he was going to make any sort of announcement? Does he need to?

The only reason he'd be making an announcement is if Terrell Owens is going to be released. Yet he hasn't made an announcement. Hmmm...I wonder why that is.

Soooo... Devil's advocate here. What if Jerry possibly doesn't feel the need to address anything because TO's contract isn't up. What if perhaps Jerry enjoys waking up every morning and having "Terrell Owens of the Dallas Cowboys" in the media spotlight? What if behind closed doors Jerry has already addressed whatever he feels needs to be addressed with his players and coaches?

Jason Witten, Marion Barber, Felix Jones, Tashard Choice.

And out of all those guys named, defenses devoted two guys evey week (except San Francisco) to whom?

Guess there will be an announcement coming on whether Dallas is keeping Romo or not.

Hope it's soon.

Jerry hasn't made an announcement on releasing Brad Johnson either. do you think Pacman is the only player we're gonna cut this offseason?

Let me tell you how this goes down. Take notes if needed.

Dallas TO his money.

TO starts the season.

Many will post that "Well, there really WERE discussions about cutting him! And they chose to keep him- There really were!"

Witten doesn't create double teams? Roy Williams won't create double teams? hm

Brad Johnson: Nobody cares.

Terrell Owens: Everyone cares.

See the difference? You announce the big news, and Terrell Owens, no matter which side you're on, is big news. Jerry Jones knows this.

That's why the Cowboys released the information about Pacman being gone. Because Pacman is a marquee name.

Yes, and Witten is that much more dangerous with Owens running off defenders every play. And no, Roy Willilams will not create double teams.

That's the bottom line and the sad reality. They're not looking at what they'll have to contend with without TO on the field this year. They just want him gone because he gets on their nerves. It's comical.

And you want him here because he gives you a woody, right?

I want the fool gone because he's caused this kind of scene EVERYWHERE he goes!

How do you not understand that? And...he has done nothing as far as a SuperBowl on any other team he's been on.

On my cell so I can't copy and paste the article. The article mentions a possible trade to Oakland for a third rounder. I'd definitely take it. For the cap gurus, a trade would take his 9m completely off the book for this year, correct?if so, that is much more valuable than a third round pick because it gives us plenty of cap room to add other players in FA to fill need positions.

No.

When dealing a player still his signing bonus will count against the teams cap in that year the player is dealt. We gave Ownes a new contract in 2008 and he received 12.9 mill as a signing bonus. If we trade him we would have to swallow 3/4*12.9 mill in 2009. It's the same amount of money if we were going to cut him.

Nice rumor but not going to happen.

Look for news of Brad Johnson being released on the back of a cereal box in the next few weeks.

It's always funny when they resort to homosexual references...Like junior high all over again.

30 posts a day average VS. 8 ....I'd say that's good advice.

Now that...is so freakng lame!

Dude!

I wan tto preface this with saying that I am not part of the TO witchhunt. I think anyone that has paid attention to my posts knows that I am 100% against the TO scapegoat and Werder induced hate fest. Truly I am ambivalent about wanting him back.

I love his production but not his age or price tag.

That being said. This is just another report amongst a litany. Peter King is a Cowboys hater and will fight tooth and nail to keep our guys out of the Hall but as the head football guy of SI he is one of the best connected football writers in the country. There are reports taht there have been heated discussions at VR between Jerry and Stephen and Jerry is having players over to his home to talk about the matter.

To say all signs point the other way is just self delusion.
