Champ Bailey-DB- Broncos Jan. 20 - 9:55 pm et

The player rep for free agent Champ Bailey confirmed Thursday that the Broncos have not contacted his client about a new contract.

"There has been no contact ... since before the season ended," the agent told Inside the NFL's Josina Anderson. New VP of Football Operations John Elway refused to commit to re-signing Bailey in his introductory press conference, and all signs point to the shutdown corner walking this offseason. He should be able to secure a 3-4 year deal on the open market.

Because he'll be 33 before training camp

This is one time I dont care. He could lock down the FS position for the next 4 years.

I would roll the dice on him. If for nothing more than to get under Skin's fans skin twice a year to shut down Moss.

I'll settle for 2 years at this point. Much better then we have had.

Bailey has already said he's not interested in playing FS for another 3-4 years, and he still sees himself as a premium CB and wants to be paid as such for this upcoming contract.

I dont know why you'd have to move him to FS right away anyway. It's not like he's a bad corner or something all the sudden.

As another poster said, NO WAY he takes FS money. I would love to have him at CB for the right price thought. He is still more versatile and reliable than either Newman or Jenkins, even at his age.

Huff would be my first choice for FS, Bailey is 2nd

I agree, hopefully Huff enjoyed playing with Ryan in Oak (stats don't say so, but who knows), combined with going back to Texas will bring him to Dallas. Add him and Logan Mankins and I think we have a shot to bounce back big time.

I'm all for Champ, but I'm really starting to warm up to the idea of Huff coming in.

That's my ticket, Realtick. By the way, you are starting to be one of my 'favored' reads now. And I'm hoping for a 'quicker' resolution to the contract issue so that the draft isn't taxed to death.

And my addition, if the Cowboys don't take a corner with their top pick, I'm rooting for the Texas CB at a lower round pick.
