I expected that......I look forward to watching Brown
Total crap. I'd love to demonstrate for the Commish how that tackle is not any more dangerous than any tackle from behind.Rampage;1845071 said:http://blog.dallascowboys.com/blogs/bigshotblurbs/archive/2007/12/19/979350.aspx
The NFL has denied Cowboys safety Roy Williams' appeal of his one-game suspension without pay for Sunday's illegal "horse-collar" tackle on Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Williams will not be eligible to play Saturday at Carolina.
The following is a statement from the league:
"Commissioner Goodell has denied the appeal of the one-game suspension of Roy Williams. The ‘horse collar’ tackling technique is prohibited because the Competition Committee and the clubs have determined that it presents an unacceptable risk to player safety. Rules that protect and advance player safety must be enforced in a way that will deter violations and prevent injuries from occurring."

I will never complain about it not being called. I don't like the rule. It doesn't protect anyone.CalCBFan;1845285 said:I couldn't agree more Hostile. The "horse collar" was used in the Monday night game on the goal line in the 2nd half (I think) and it wasn't even called. Ditto for the Chargers game the other night.
If Roy was throwing himself on the back of players legs, it would be a lot more dangerous and perfectly legal! In fact isn't the "horse collar" legal inside the tackle box? This is one of the worst rules this candy-*** league has. We ought to just play it w/ a video game or flags...

Some things aren't called, but the league watches the video, send the fines out later. (just saying)CalCBFan;1845285 said:I couldn't agree more Hostile. The "horse collar" was used in the Monday night game on the goal line in the 2nd half (I think) and it wasn't even called.

Nicely done.Idgit;1845122 said:Roy can't even appeal right. Bigby would have gotten off.

The focus will be moved back to Bradie James or Flozell's false start. And we'll have a 400 count thread about it.Ren;1845348 said:Well Saturday will be interesting now if nothing else should be interesting to see how this board deals with not having Roy to blame for every 2st down we give up
