That's how the Commanders continued to stay in the game...

We have big linebackers that aren't that fast... it is obvious that any smart offensive coach would attack the outside... We didn't adjust at all...

only time Roy should ever play deep safety is when we are up 30 points because your just asking for him to be exposed any other way. this has probably been Roy most incosistent year as he has had as many bad games as he has had good games.

Can turn his hips for @#$*.... Sure a sold hit is a highlight once every five games but OU roy didnt weigh 240. Still my favorite player but man, I am tired of the same old story with him. Love the shots but would trade them all for just being quicker in the hips..

I don't know what Roy weighs tonight but losing 20lbs probably wouldn't hurt his explosiveness when making takles. Now with that being said I'm not so sure if that will solve his problems in coverage but the R.W. that played tonight doesn't need to be in ANY kind of deep coverage.

what complements the problem, is we continue to play a cover 2... we are so worried about the deep threat, that we continue to allow teams to pick of decent chunks of yardage on dinks and dunks... this also allows teams to eat up the clock....

NO had a full back who never scored a TD, score 3 TDs... that is horrible coaching...


I want to see Roy WIlliams LET LOOSE... This guy, and Ware, are not being used to their full advantage, that it is depressing... we could have a crushing attack style defense, but we're playing like cowards, afraid of a big play here and there...

This defense is poorly coached IMO...

NO ran basic screens and dump offs, just running mis-direction... we didn't adjust at all..

For sure....what team above a high-school level couldn't come in and run those same plays.

I don't think we do have the talent. Canty is a 4-3 DT at best. Spears is JAG. LB's couldn't cover in the flat if you put a gun to their heads. Safeties are abominable outside of run support. Etc.

As someone who has ripped on Roy pretty good tonight allow me to say that, yes, the whole team stunk tonight. I agree with everything you said. But there is also no denying that Roy was the SS on at LEAST 3 TD's where he should easily have been able to tackle the guy and DIDN'T. He didn't because he was either out of position, took bad angles, or had bad form. He didn't single-handedly lose the game for us tonight (42 minus 21 leaves 21 and we only scored 17 - and should have scored only 10 really) but his play tonight was, quite matter-of-factly, not worth defending.

Let me add that Drew Brees tonight became the ONLY player in HISTORY to ever throw 5 TD's against Dallas in Texas Stadium. That doesn't happen without piss-poor play from the secondary.

J/K but you can't put Roy in a position to be the last line of defense on a play like that. You are asking him to do more than he is capable of.
