SORRY FOR REPOST..............When told the Bill Parcells blamed seven touchdowns on the safety position, Williams said, "A lot of people get beat in the NFL. Who cares? Stuff happens. Bill has pointed that out."

Mosley had an interesting discussion with Williams about who points fingers the media, coaches and fans.

Your Mosley Afternoon Report starts now

We have a lot of ground to cover and a short time to do it. I'm required to attend a work happy hour at 5:30 p.m. and then have a TV appearance at 6:30.

The good news is that I do my best work following happy hours.

But in case you care what happened out at Valley Ranch today, Bill Parcells gave Miles Austin the kiss of death and safety Roy Williams pouted his way through a series of questions.

First, let's deal with this Terry Glenn injury situation. Dr. Bill called it a chondromalacia, which those of us in the medical field know as an irritation under the lining of the knee. By the way, it's Glenn's right knee. He's listed as probable, which under the Parcells administration, means he may have to lose the leg. My gut's telling me that Glenn isn't playing Sunday. And if he doesn't practice tomorrow, we'll know that for sure. ...

Since Calvin has already put the Roy Williams thing out there, I'll try to explain what happened. I asked him if the fact that the free safeties had been burned for several long touchdowns had forced him to be less aggressive. He accused me of "finger-pointing" and then said I was trying to "flip" everything around on him. This was the first time Williams had spoken to reporters since Sunday's loss. He's the most thin-skinned star in the league but I realize a lot of you don't care about that. What does he do on Sundays? Well, not quite enough lately. ..

.Parcells thinks undrafted rookie WR Miles Austin has "tremendous potential as a player." Austin will return kicks Sunday. He said he "didn't see enough" from Skyler Green. ... Parcells has told his team that at least 30 NFL games will "come down to the wire" this year and that it has to execute when under "duress." ...

Parcells said that Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart does a good job of going to the "outlet" pass quickly. He's worried about Arizona getting Edgerrin James in space on short throws. ... Parcells said he expects DE Jason Hatcher to be a "pressure player" and he hopes he can spell DeMarcus Ware. ... Parcells said he's never liked the two-point conversion rule in the NFL. ... LB Ryan Fowler's mother was born in Tehran, Iran and has the word "Omead" tattooed on his arm. I'm pretty sure it means "the light," but I forgot to write it down. Remind me to tell you the rest of this story. Pretty fascinating.

Another example of how weak minded Roy is. He mentally weak or soft, which ever one you like to use.

Interesting that Austin is returning kicks. Parcells keeps harping on this kid like he did Romo, I'm ready to see what he has.

Yep.

I never forget the "infamous" article Jaques-Taylor wrote saying guys like Roy and Rivera should think about paying Jerry Jones their salary back.

Roy then cowardly left a note in the lockerroom (conveniently where people could find it) with curse words and deragatory statements for JJT.

He was also on K104 a couple of weeks ago getting an attitude when one of the interviewers suggested that he was beat in Coverage.

Its amazing how many reporters make a living spouting off non sense these days. Its a tired act not even worthy of a response if you ask me.

agreed..

what's idiotic is that he was turning things around on Roy.. he just doesn't like being called out on it.. how come reporters feel like they can fingerpoint and call people out, but they become whiny brats when someone calls them out? And Roy thin skinned? If he is, which I doubt, he would have more reason than anyone in the league to be thin skinned.. Even if he has a 3 interception game, reporters are gonna blame him for all of the Cowboys' troubles and call him the most overrated player in the league..

I assume most of those 7 TDs belong to the free safeties? Am I right? Still remember Charlie Waters explaining on radio that the guy he was chasing wasn't his man.

Well, at least Mosely didn't have to read lips this time to understand what Roy said. Fact is most of the local Dallas sports writers that follow Dallas are pretty bad and unprofessional or just plain idiotic. Mosely tops the list.

I'm not sure what Mosely expects from Roy. If Roy says "yeah, the FS play is the reason why I'm not as aggressive" then a guy like Mosely will say that Roy is placing the blame on his teammates. If Roy says the opposite, then a guy like Mosely will say Roy is at fault or that Roy isn't being honest. Either way, Roy can't win.

If Mosely believes that Roy is the most thin skinned player in the league, than he's a naive moron. And there's better ways to find out the answer if Roy's supposed lack of aggressiveness is due to the FS play or not.

Oh yeah, Roy is on pace for 6 INT's this year (and should've had a pick last week). He must really suck.

Yep. Roy takes more undeserved &$%^ than any player in the league.

My opinion? He shouldn't be so damn good at his job. Then these artards who see him coming into the frame late because he's covering for someone else's screwup wouldn't be able to mistakenly blame him for something he had nothing to do with.

1. This was in 2004. Rivera wasn't on the team.

2. JJT called Roy a thief as he was stealing money from Jerrah as JJT put it because he wasn't playing up to expectations. (Call me crazy, I don't like it when somebody calls me a thief either).

3. It was rumored that Roy wrote the note. But nobody knows for sure and I believe it was also rumored that Torrin Tucker and/or Andre Gurode wrote the note as well.

He was also on K104 a couple of weeks ago getting an attitude when one of the interviewers suggested that he was beat in Coverage.

Probably because he always gets blamed for getting beat no matter what happens. Last week he was blamed for getting beat on the Portis TD run when he was on the opposite side of the field. I've seen reporters claim he got beat by Seattle last year when not only was it Willie Pile in coverage, but Roy was blitzing. Supposedly he got beat again by LJ Smith when it wasn't even remotely his play.

I don't think he's thin skinned. He's probably a normal person in this regard. But when the blame is almost always incorrectly put on you, you tend to cop an attitude after awhile.

I was thinking the same thing. I hope his grammar is better this time if he writes a letter.

Roy is my favorite player but the guy needs to own up to his crappy play. Owens comes out and says to put the loss on his shoulders...Roy needs to do that also. Dominate players have to dominate a game! COME ON ROY!

Why some people defend these media parasites, I have no idea. Kind of like the paparazzi getting people angry to up the value of their pics....And people buy all the BS.

Yet some posters take Mosley's side instead of Roy Williams, are only catalytic player on defense. Mosley champions his blog as award winning....Please

Are you all fans of the Cowboys or just like to *itch and Whine about anything. Kind of like the Idiot media.

Yeah, I almost forgot how crappy the handwriting was.

The letter was funny though, especially the part about "Taylor needs to stop eating at McDonalds" or whatever :p: .

I'm still trying to find out what is even remotely abbrasive about Mosley's comment. How did that warrant a defense response?

Look, you come into the league with a couple suppositions and pieces of knowledge. You know the media is going to ask you questions you aren't going to like. Deal with it. Roy has made mistakes in every game this year... he's not immune to these kinds of questions (and this one was pedestrian in that regard). You ask why there are "mediots?" It's because so many members of the media are intimidated into just asking players "what's your favorite color" instead of "why has the secondary sucked this year?" It's partially on them, but like Yakuza mentioned with Roy, when you give reporters so many awful answers to their questions, they're going to stop asking the good ones.

Just because Mosley didn't ask the guy "tell us all how good you are" doesn't make him a douchebag. It just means he asked Roy a question he didn't like. Don't piss off anybody with a barrel of ink unless you're prepared to deal with the consequences.

I don't have a problem with defending some media members. There's plenty of times where players use bad judgement, cross lines, and are in the wrong or just bad people. There are writers who are professional, insightful, smart, and know what they are doing.

Mosely has never proven to be that person. He's the same guy that came up to McBriar last year and told him that he was cut because supposedly Mosely can read lips on a TV screen and Parcells said "he's gone" (according to Mosely) after McBriar shanked a punt against the Skins. That's unprofessional, stupid, and negligent.

As for Roy's play, I'm pretty satisfied with what he's doing. Parcells is as well. The big plays against Dallas have mostly come from the FS (even Mosely hinted at this). Parcells has already benched Watkins and threatened to bench Davis and Coleman to start Watkins again. Call me crazy, but if Roy was truly playing poorly, Parcells wouldn't be benching the Free Safeties.

1. We don't know if it was abrasive or not. Don't know what tone Roy said it was in.

2. Mosely's question was there to put Roy in a bad position. For starters, Roy is playing relatively well this season. Mosely is trying to act like Roy's play is bad and is costing the team. And like I mentioned, no matter what Roy says a guy like Mosely will then make Roy look like the bad guy.

Just because Mosley didn't ask the guy "tell us all how good you are" doesn't make him a douchebag.

Mosely is a douchebag because he's just a douchebag.
