Roy Williams gets upset with Matt Mosley

Come on Roy play up to your first round status and people will get off your back..

Well, I'm not really interested in the opinion of a bunch of homers who don't know and have never even talked to Roy, much less been in the locker room, defend him on the charge of being thin-skinned...blah blah blah.

I've shown where Mosely is a negligent, unprofessional, dim witted dolt before (the McBriar incident). Mosely's work speaks for itself.

I'm not interested in writers who cluelessly pump the big name players all of the time. But I'm also not interested in goofs that act and write like Mosely does either.

Just because people are bashing Mosely doesn't make them a homer. He's written enough stupid, uninspired, and unprofessional garbage for quite some time. Just because people actually see what he is through his columns over the years and remember him for it, hardly makes them a homer.

Mosely has deservedly earned his poor reputation, just as Galloway and Hansen and many others.

Why do fans get so upset just because a reporter questions a player about his performance?

The fact is Roy is very good at some things and average to below average in other areas. But so is most every other player in the league, so there's nothing wrong with that.

But Roy needs to be a professional and take the criticism and not respond like a child.

I don't know if anyone else notices it, but you can tell by Roy's body language on the field when a big pass play occurs. Several times I've noticed that if he is around a deep pass completion he immediately looks around like there has got to be someone or something else to blame for the completion.

Save your breath. The sheep have spoken. After reading several of these posts, it's clear that the "douchebag" tag belongs to Mosley's critics. People went apeshi*t yesterday when John Clayton quite properly called TO an underperforming turd--a fact as clear as the nose on your face. Didn't matter. He had to be destroyed by the homers, because dissent is a dirty word. "Justifiable criticism"? They want no part of it. Everyone from Santa Claus on down realizes that Roy is a liability in coverage. Scouts Inc knows it and so do opposing coordinators. His miscues have played a big part in several divisional losses. But don't you dare notice it or write about it. Imperious Roy wouldn't like that. Ditto his apologists.

opinions are like.... I'm looking for an opinion from someone who actually knows the facts...I'm sure Dale knows whether Roy has a rep as a guy who can't answer a tough question or take criticism...if it's all a lie made up by one goofy writer, I'm sure Dale or someone else in the profession who covers the Cowboys would know.

Everything else is just speculation. I also know that T.O. has been an arrogant, selfish, team destroying psychopath for several years...even with all those documented facts, I will still assume he's being a decent teammate in DAllas until I hear something different from someone in the locker room.

So excuse me if I don't buy the idea that the article's main idea is false without actually having any facts from someone who would know it. You have every right to your opinions and assumptions based on prior knowledge of the writer, and you have every right to make valuable additions to the discussion of this board...and you may even be right on this one, but I still prefer to hear it from someone who is in a position to actually "KNOW".....

Bashing the writer's reputation doesn't make someone a homer, but defending Roy about something they can't possibly have an iota of knowledge on is being a homer...I think.

Still running around with the Randy Galloway wannabe act huh?

What?

99.9% of the people on this message board will not be able to give you an opinion based upon their personal experience with "said athlete" as we will probably never know them long enough to give an opinion on "what they are really like".

If people are unabled to voice an opinion on a message board because they have never "met" an athlete then message boards are totally worthless imo.

People on this board follow the Cowboys religiously and based on articles, interviews, PCs, radio interviews, TV interviews etc etc I think any poster could make a reasonable assumption about "said" athlete. So I really dont see the reason to "insult" everyone else by saying only "Dale's" opinion matters.

Let's keep requests realistic....and reasonable.

Thanks

trading roy in the offseason is a promising idea for a good 2007 season

You can't defend Roy Williams anymore...b/c he can't defend on the field...he is what he is...a hitter...and a terrible...just flat out brutal pass defender - not to meniton a media softee who can't live up to a mistake ...
This guy wants to be a leader? laughable...Leaders lead...they walk the walk and don't have to talk.
Roy needs to find his game and change it...

A lot of people know what kind of guy that Roy is, and he's never described like he is in this article.

Roy has always been a standup guy. He takes blame when it's his fault, and he's very diligent in trying to always be a better player and man.

I'm not trying to be a homer, but a fair case should be made. I know several people who kow Roy Williams, and they can't say enough good things about him.

Yep.

I never forget the "infamous" article Jaques-Taylor wrote saying guys like Roy and Rivera should think about paying Jerry Jones their salary back.

Roy then cowardly left a note in the lockerroom (conveniently where people could find it) with curse words and deragatory statements for JJT.

He was also on K104 a couple of weeks ago getting an attitude when one of the interviewers suggested that he was beat in Coverage.

Your post is so fraudulant, it should be called swiss cheese because of all the holes.

Wake - up Mike G. Roy Williams is the best Strong Saftey to ever play the game. Better than, Darren Woodson and even better than ROnnie Lott, according to both players, themselves.

So gimme' a break, Hatter!:banghead:

I agree with this, as a fan who's watched Roy closely over the past few years, on the field, his post game remarks, and his media outings. One of the reasons he is being groomed by the NFL Network is his charisma, but another is his good humour. An easy-going charm that just doesn't mesh well with over-defensiveness.

I've yet to hear him whiney about anything. If he was thin-skinned, he'd come across either whiney or angry.

RW is one of the good guys, and unless it can be proven he wrote any nasty letter, or he does more than give Matt Mosley short shrift, I fail to see where the proof of abnormally 'thin skin' lies.
