Hopefully he can regain that speed, he has been injured a few times since then.

For those folks that think Williams isn't fast (when healthy), just go to the following link:

http://www.nfl.com/videos?categoryI...92306&week=3&seasonFilter=2007&seasonType=REG

It's the '07 Lions vs Eagles game when he takes a 10-12 yard slant 91 yards. Huh, he looked pretty damn fast to me ya'll.

Did he outrun a 36-year-old safety? Williams isn't slow, he's just not fast. Bolden isn't fast either. You can run excellent routes, and has football smarts he'll be all right.

Who said he wasn't fast?

MAybe I'm losing my mind but I keep getting the impression from numerous articles from many of our favorite writers (including Rafeal Vela) that Roy is basically another Keyshawn, with just a little more speed of course. But, I don't get the impression from anyone that he can be a home-run threat like T.O. Personally, I think he can, ESPECIALLY is he's fully recovered from that foot injury.

I think with being healthy, and getting on the same page with Romo, and Williams will be an excellent target for Tony this season and beyond.

Well, according to the NFL Gameday crew, Dawkins didn't play that day. So, maybe hsi stride makes him look slow or something BUT, I've been looking at some of his video in his Lions days. When he get in the open field, people rarely seem to catch him. So, I really don't know what to think. Personally, I hope everyone plays him like he can't outrun anybody OR get deep. If healthy, I see him with these numbers:

70-75 catches, 1150-1200 yards, 10 TD's

I've watched Roy Williams for a long time. The problem with Roy is perception right now. Roy Williams has exceptional 100 speed. He is not a quick, 40 guy. If he can get his legs extended, you will not catch him from behind but he's never going to be a quick guy. Randy Moss is like this as well. I don't believe any of the Dallas fan base has seen the real Roy Williams but I won't try to convince. I expect Roy to come out healthy this season and I think you will see a different WR. However, the proof is always in the putting so we will see what we will see.

I'm pulling for him.

Everyone I know from Detriot describes him EXACTLY that way (my brother lives there and goes to the games). He is not a barn burner. Roy Williams even said it in his first interviews here.

Got ya. That's right, I remember him saying that now. thanks for refreshing my memory. But, damn, I think he may be faster than he gives himself credit for.

No, any comparison speed wise to Keyshawn is stupid.

Yeah, Keyshawn was molasses. Roy is a little faster than someone like Boldin although nowhere near as quick.

Either way, I don't get why anyone would think he's all-star material. He looks like a slightly above average starter to me.

he looks like a Fitzgerald to me, above-average speed, ridiculous hands, body-control and leaping ability to catch the football, does a great job of using his body to shield the defender from the ball

Roy ran 4.48 forty at his pro day and 10.38 100 meters in high school track meet. He is pretty fast but maybe not quick.

he takes a bit to get going, but once he does, he's pretty hard to catch, his only fault is that he's not particularly quick or explosive in the short area

Williams is galaxies away from Fitzgerald's level.

Yeah, that comparison needs to stop at 'both guys go up for the ball'.
